Why We Hate HR

Why We Hate HR | Cass Shamond Draper - Talent Management | Scoop.it
In a knowledge economy companies with the best talent win. And finding nurturing and developing that talent should be one of the most important tasks...

Via Marylene Delbourg-Delphis
Cass Shamond Draper's insight:

I found this article to be honest. Not fond of the word "hate" in general, but a general dislike for HR practices that go nowhere and help no one is probably healthy. I liked the part about talent and retention. Now that "hunting" candidates is over, and internal databases mean nothing, its really important to be the kind of organization that just simply attracts and retains good talent. Let's be completely transparent, honest, and open minded.

This is right on! Love it! Age old idea, but I appreciate the new spin and perspective! Our actions shape our attitudes! If I run 10 miles a day there is a good chance I will have a positive attitude about running and consider myself a runner.

Here’s How to Tell That Your Talent Is About to Quit - ERE.net | Cass Shamond Draper - Talent Management | Scoop.it
Cass Shamond Draper's insight:

My thoughts are if your employees are about to quit, you are way too late! I love the simple three reasons why people leave their jobs - manager, compensation, or career path. These seem to be the reasons why rational productive people leave good companies. There are also "emotional events" that just take people out of the game. These are the most unfortunate occurrences because little can be done before or after they happen.
