BBC Global News is Twitter's latest TV partner. The news organization announced it struck a deal with Twitter Amplify to serve in-Tweet video clips.
'BBC.com has begun producing a series of short-form videos called "#BBCTrending" to appear in Twitter streams later this fall. The videos, hosted by Ann-Marie Tomchak, give viewers the inside story on trending news on social media that day -- after a brief pre-roll from a sponsor.
"#BBCTrending" will be distributed to BBC International's 4.8 million Twitter followers and pushed further as Twitter sells from its suite of ad products, such as promoted tweets, to help with distribution.
Twitter's media partners in the Amplify program have typically tweeted clips from existing TV programming thus far, not original content created with the platform in mind., Viacom, embedded sponsored highlights from MTV's Video Music Awards inside tweets, for example,,and Turner Broadcasting, which used Amplify to distribute sponsored highlights from the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament....'
Twitter's media partners in its Amplify program are drilling down to get more specific & targeted with the content they're tweeting to promote programs. They've now moved from tweeting ads for existing programs to developing new content specifically for the Twitter platform.

My version of this - the lazyman's version - is when I hit the pillow at night, to say that I'm grateful for different things that happened during the day.
It might be for picking my daughter up & having some nice time with her after school. A positive business meeting. Going for a run. For being in good health. Grateful to Mum & Dad for giving me 3 awesome brothers.
I've got a lot to be grateful for & that's always a good thing to remind myself of.
It's a powerful way to get myself vibrating at the frequency of gratitude. Which (according to the attraction theorists) also happens to be the highest frequency for attraction.

This says it all:
Gheorghe’s business is based on a simple insight--that the so-called “consumerization of technology” is having a profound impact on enterprise, thanks to the ubiquity of mobile devices.
“You used to go home and expect to check your email in Outlook,” he says. “Now you come to work and expect to see applications that are as simple as Facebook or LinkedIn.”
The same insight - the consumerization of technology - will drive the creation of a video consumption longtail, as consumers increasingly create, store and share custom video highlights. And this will bring huge monetization opportunities for publishers, serving up highly-targeted ads into specifically tagged highlights.
Interesting to see Twitter is courting content owners such as college sports broadcasters. They're sharing revenue from pre-roll ads that run before the content owner's highlights that are promoted on Twitter.
Doubly interesting that the reason Twitter can expect content owners to say 'yes' to this is that Twitter, through its $90m acquisition of Bluefin Labs, can identify Twitter users who may not know about their channels or shows but who MIGHT LIKE THEM if they did.
While the personalised web has potential, it will only really work if we have an actual, human element behind it, surfacing the best content or influencing an ad algorithm based on expertise and experience.
