BBC Global News is Twitter's latest TV partner. The news organization announced it struck a deal with Twitter Amplify to serve in-Tweet video clips.
'BBC.com has begun producing a series of short-form videos called "#BBCTrending" to appear in Twitter streams later this fall. The videos, hosted by Ann-Marie Tomchak, give viewers the inside story on trending news on social media that day -- after a brief pre-roll from a sponsor.
"#BBCTrending" will be distributed to BBC International's 4.8 million Twitter followers and pushed further as Twitter sells from its suite of ad products, such as promoted tweets, to help with distribution.

Twitter's media partners in its Amplify program are drilling down to get more specific & targeted with the content they're tweeting to promote programs. They've now moved from tweeting ads for existing programs to developing new content specifically for the Twitter platform.

Interesting to see Twitter is courting content owners such as college sports broadcasters. They're sharing revenue from pre-roll ads that run before the content owner's highlights that are promoted on Twitter.
Doubly interesting that the reason Twitter can expect content owners to say 'yes' to this is that Twitter, through its $90m acquisition of Bluefin Labs, can identify Twitter users who may not know about their channels or shows but who MIGHT LIKE THEM if they did.
