Apps in Education: SAMR Model Using iPad Apps Poster

Apps in Education: SAMR Model Using iPad Apps Poster | Tablet Technology & Mathematics Education | Scoop.it

If the SAMR model is new to you here is a brief explanation of the four letters that make it up:

S- Substitution - Tech acts as a direct tool substitute, with no functional change.
A - Augmentation - Tech acts as a direct tool substitute, with functional improvement.
M- Modification - Tech allows for significant task redesign.
R - Redefinition - Tech allows for the creation of new tasks, previously inconceivable.

The SAMR Model begins with Substitution (as in read the poster from the bottom up to more clearly understand the model), moving to Augmentation, then Modification and finishing with Redefinition.

The SAMR model is the work of Ruben R. Puentedura, Ph.D. from M.I.T. For more information on the SAMR model check out his website at http://hippasus.com/rrpweblog/.

For an indepth look you may want to check out the presentation from August 23, 2012 with the title "The SAMR Model: Background and Exemplars."

WARNING !
What works using a high quality Smartphone on a screen, might not work on every phone when printed. This is what makes QR Code design a really complex process. There are so many parameters that may corrupt the reading of a QR Code including: mobiles devices, operating systems, scanning softwares, image processes, printing machines, printing inks, printing papers, lightings…

We’ve been generating Eye-catching QR Codes since 2011. What is unique about our international patent pending process is the compliance to the ISO/IEC 18004 specifications. An ISO certified QR Code is a printed QR Code that has been tested, following a specific process. A rank of compliance is given to the QR Code. Some industries, such as transportation, will ask for a specific level to be reached (A, B, C).
An ISO compliant QR Code will be readable by any mobile device.
A non-ISO compliant QR Code might be readable…

The value of a software able to create Eye-catching QR Codes resides in its ability to maximize the number of mobile users able to read those QR Codes, either printed of paper, plastic, metal or glass.
