I like the 'end of the day' questions - especially when liked to a digital reflective portfolio or appraisal 'doc' .I've been working with schools and a Google Site template I have created, to move from paper and tick style appraisal systems (which are often due in week 10 and teachers don't look at or think about until week 9!). The comments so far have been overwhelming. See the latest email I was sent

Nick Rate posted a link to his latest blog post on twitter tonight - I followed the link as I find Nick often has insightful posts jam packed with reflective data and useful links - I wasn't disappointed. I found his teacher appraisal document particularly interesting and I am in the process of developing these online with several schools.

Excellent post by Nick Rate (a CORE e-fellow) providing a great illustration of how teacher inquiry, appraisal and the use of portfolios can all tie in together and contribute to improvement in teaching practice (as opposed to being burdensome add-ons to what we do).

It's interesting to reflect on how the ICT landscape has changed, previously I found myself delivering PD predominately on 'Web 2.0' tools and often finding 'new ways' to digitally create content. I am currently predominantly delivering iPad and 'Google Tools' PD - mixed in (thankfully) with a large dose of Blogging and 'Making Thinking Visible' - providing students with a voice and strengthening whanau home school partnerships. I love my job!

This is an easy read that leads me to think of the leadership teams within several of the schools I have the priviledge of working in. Many have a clearly articulated vision (some don't!). Just reading the 10 big ideas may led you to refocus, to rethink and perhaps even feel affirmed that things are just 'ticking along' in your place.
