Resurrection of Jesus We read that it was in the early morning - at the break of dawn on that first Easter Day. As the friends of Jesus stood in awe and wonder - Resurrection of Jesus at the tomb where the stone was rolled away. Then to their amazement as they marveled - an angel of the Lord did appear; and his words to them were that, The Lord has risen! Rejoice and tell the others! Have no fear! But very early on Sunday morning, the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what He told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must

Palm Sunday Hosanna in the Highest! Palm Sunday Lord, they sang to You that day. Waving their palm branches, their voice filled the air with praise. Lord, did You know that very soon - the day would change to darkest night? The sames voices that had praised You - would now yell, Crucify! As You watched them wave the branches, could You see the angry mob? Could you hear curses instead of praise as they blasphemed the Son of God? What kind of love would say, I ll go. For all sin I ll take their place! I ll give my life that they might live. Thank You Jesus for Your grace! This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said, Tell the people of Israel, Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey riding on a donkey s colt. Matthew 21: 4-5 (NLT) Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of Him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around Him were shoutin
In The Garden of Gethsemane In The Garden Dear Lord, we see You in the garden - praying, Not My will but Thine. Did You see the souls who would need Your grace as You looked down through time? Did You look at Your creation? Did You count each tear we cried? And through Your great love for each of us - You became our sacrifice. He walked away, about a stone s throw, and knelt down and prayed, Father, if You are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not mine. Luke 22: 41-42 With great agony of Spirit, with drops as blood You cried. Did You see the whip that would tear Your flesh - and the swords that would pierce Your sides? Alone with the Father, did You see all of Adam s race? Did You say, Father, I will give my life - to give our children grace. Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened Him. He prayed more fervently and He was in such agony of Spirit that His sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.
Nourishment for Life and Beyond Nourishment for Life and Beyond Dear Lord, We need nourishment for our soul; our heart needs to be made whole. We are nothing – when severed from the Vine. Like a twig – tossed to and fro - without purpose – without hope. Our soul is thirsty – for the nourishment You provide. Do you sometimes feel like that twig that is being tossed to and fro by the wind? I know that feeling well. It happens when I fail to read and study God’s Word. It happens when I get so involved in worldly things (no matter how good and noble they may be). It happens when my priorities get turned upside down and I let anything come before talking and listening to my Savior. You know the feeling – that restless, ” something is wrong” kind of feeling or that deep thirst that nothing seems to satisfy. That is God’s way of telling us to slow down and let Him behind the wheel. Seek His will first instead of trying to make our will become H
On The Road to Emmaus On the road to Emmaus, The Road to Emmaus Lord, You talked with Your friends. You gave them hope for tomorrow; You promised life without end. You opened up the Scriptures. They felt the heavenly touch. You warmed them with Your Presence. They recognized You by Your Love. That same day two of Jesus followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus Himself suddenly came and began walking with them. But God kept them from recognizing Him. He asked them, What are you discussing so intently as you walk along? Luke 24: 13-17 (NLT). On our own Road to Emmaus Lord, You walk by our side. You touch our heart with hope and comfort. You see each tear we cry. Lord, You open up the Scriptures. We feel Your heavenly touch. You warm our heart with Your Presence. We recognize You by Your Love. As they sat down to eat
Our Savior (A Good Friday Message) Thorns crowned the head of the Savior. Savior Nails were in His hands and in His feet. Swords pierced the side of the Savior, the Savior who suffered for you and me. Tears ran down the cheeks of the Savior, as the nails were driven deeper in His hands. Laughed at and mocked was the Savior, the Savior - who loved every man. It is finished, breathed the voice of the Savior, as He surrendered His Spirit to God. The earth quaked! The sun fled! It WAS finished! The price for our salvation was paid! By this time it was noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus shouted, Father, I entrust my Spirit into Your hands! And with those words He breathed His last. Luke23: 44-46 (NLT) Precious are the W
Lord, how humbling for You to wash our feet. Though You have saved us, this touch, we daily need. This garment that we wear is human flesh; Lord, How Humbling and Lord, so often we need to be refreshed. Lord, how precious for You to wash our feet. And how soothing when You take our hurt and grief. For as You wash us, You infill us with Your grace, and give us Your strength to make it through the day. Lord, how humbling for You to wash our feet! What greater way to celebrate Holy Week than to celebrate the humbleness of our Savior. As we see Jesus stooping to wash the feet of His disciples, even Judas who would later betray Him, it is hard to comprehend that the King of the universe would stoop and wash the dirt of the day off the feet that had walked miles with Him and without Him. The hugeness of this is, not only did He do this for His disciples, but He does it for us today. We are Hi
Breaking the Chains Breaking The Chains Lord, what were You thinking as You walked that frightening road? Did You feel the burdens of all man-kind beneath Your heavy load? That heavy cross upon Your back would break the chains that had us bound. It was our weaknesses You carried, and our sorrows that weighed You down. Yet it was our weaknesses He carried; it was our sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins! Isaiah 53:4 (NLT) This Prophecy came to pass when Jesus was crucified for OUR sins. He broke the chains that had us bound! What kind of Love would do this for people who slandered Him, spit on Him, mocked Him, and used His Name in vain? What kind of Love would do this for people who are self-righteous, indifferent, unwilling to stand up for Him or tell others the Good News of His Salvation? What kind of Love would die for the prideful and the rebelliou
Lord – You Are The Power and The Glory of our Lives! Lord, there are no words that can describe - The Power and The Glory just how wonderful You are. Your Love is deeper than any ocean, higher than the stars! David, the one after God’s own heart recognized this way back in the Old Testament when he penned: Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty.
Lord, Teach us to Pray. For all the sins I have committed – Lord forgive me. Lord Forgive Me For all the good things I’ve omitted – Lord forgive me. For bad thoughts and careless words - thoughtless acts and those I’ve hurt - Lord forgive me. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
Miracle Prayer My Prayer For A Miracle Lord, my heart needs a miracle, just a whisper from You - Just a gentle reminder – of all You can do. I don’t want to seem selfish; You give me so much. But Lord, my heart needs a miracle – just a warm, tender touch. Glancing at my open Bible, these Words I read: Greatest Miracle “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” The very greatest miracle – that ever has been - is that the crucified Jesus – is living within. Lord, my heart found the miracle; You showed me in Your Word. It is the very greatest miracle – that ever was heard! Miracles are happening around us every day; and one of the greatest of them all is that the King of the Universe, the crucified Jesus loves us enough to answer our simple little prayers with something as powerful as a verse directly from His Own Holy Word. How He must love us to understand that we are so child-like that sometimes we need reassurance from Him. I invite y
