Responsive Web Design is So More than Just a Few Breakpoints - Inspect Element

Responsive Web Design is So More than Just a Few Breakpoints - Inspect Element | Sustainable Web | Scoop.it

Layouts became completely broken at widths that weren’t defined breakpoints. In a world where devices are changing at a rapid pace, we need to make sure that our designs don’t break at any widths.

16 Examples of Great Responsive Web Design

16 Examples of Great Responsive Web Design | Sustainable Web | Scoop.it

Every website’s audience expects to be able to access it via any device that connects to the Internet. Therefore: it is no longer an option to have a responsive website. If you wish not to upset your visitors, allow them to visit a site on their phone that is meant for their phone. That, right there, will make them feel cared for and appreciated.

It is hard to create something on a limited, tiny screen. It is hard to give the same experience of flow and intensity on a 1024×768 or 420×380 screen compared to a laptop or desktop monitor.

Moreover, the most daunting thing about responsive design is the fear that we know that our visitors are giving us only so little attention because they are most likely walking, talking, running errands and making lunch all at the same time. (Not to mention the greasy and smudged screen and the glare on that glass.)

Making of stunning and attention retaining responsive websites
How do we make amazing responsive website? With a simple approach.

Content - Cut out all the unnecessary content. Keep in mind that clutter looks bad on a smaller screen. The last thing you want to do is bombard a user’s phone with information. Keeping things clean, crisp and simple on your site, no matter what the device, will make all your visitors happy. Therefore, use this newly refined content on your tablet and desktop versions as well. Colour -Colour can surprise us and comfort us as we look at a design. For instance, blue is associated with trust, red with warnings, and bright colours just hard everybody’s eyes. Different colour combinations create unique experiences. Placing red text on blue background is a bad idea. But, placing white text on red background can be a radiating charm. Colour makes for one hell of an impression when it is combined with stunning layout and typography. Typography - Type sets the tone of the website. Big bulky fonts make us feel daring, fearless and adventurous. Thin serif fonts make us feel chic and elegant. It is crucial that the right font face and size are implemented within a design as without it is can be a complete and outer miss. Most importantly, it can become stale and boring, which you do not want if you wish to grasp and retina someone’s attention. Layout -It guides us within a website and makes us experiences it. It is the key in organizing and presenting content. If everything is placed in a non-uniform manner, then the reader is lost and confused; there is not direction of where the user should start looking/reading to where he should end.

Applying these principles to your design for your desktop, tablet and phone versions is capable of generating a powerful experience and impression of your website no matter how it is viewed.

These following examples are of knock out responsive designs.
