Chicago Gateway Green enhances Chicago's expressways, gateways and neighborhoods by transforming vacant land into tree-filled green spaces.

French biochemist Pierre Calleja has invented a streetlight that is powered by CO2-absorbing algae. This lamp packs serious environmental punch, taking out 1 ton of CO2 per year, which is as much as a tree would absorb in it’s entire lifetime. Wow!
