7 Websites For Science Questions & Answers For The Scientific Spirit

7 Websites For Science Questions & Answers For The Scientific Spirit | Sustain Our Earth | Scoop.it

"The web is the Grand Oracle. It sees all and answers all. I wish we had the educational and self-learning edge it gives to today’s generation. In a snap, you can tap it to ask anything about the world we live in, and generally it is pretty accurate answering back. Perhaps, apart from the ‘question of life’ it can answer anything. Who knows, someone might come up with that answer too in due time. But for now, from the purely scientific point of view, you can ask away about life sciences…and all the associated disciplines.
We have our own platform for questions and answers, and that’s where a reader asked us about some good websites on questions related to science, particularly physics and chemistry? He got the help he needed. Perhaps, with the help of this post and the seven websites mentioned here, you will too...."

5 Big Moments in the History of Knowledge Transfer

5 Big Moments in the History of Knowledge Transfer | Sustain Our Earth | Scoop.it

There are basically three kinds of knowledge humans can share with one another: news, concepts, and skills. Most of our early advances in communication technology focused on sharing news over a distance – a good place to start, as it was helpful in avoiding death. We've come a long way since then, and while online technologies are still evolving – and while too many people still lack access to them – we're using the internet to convey news, skills, and sophisticated concepts globally, instantaneously, and with increasing efficiency. Let's take a look at a few key historical moments in the history of knowledge transfer.

I love the idea of aligning with a purpose but of course I have questions when I hear certain things like… "What does it mean to 'Transcend self interest'?" It is like thinking it necessary to "moving beyond" the need to have blood coursing through my veins. "Creating relationships where everyone is getting richer" sounds like a situation where people trade goods and services freely and exchange value for value. What a great idea! It could be like a free market where men trade without taking advantage or being taken advantage of. Seems if men understood self interest as something not needing transcendence but needing acceptance as a fact of life the rest may follow.

Thank you Tony Franciskato. I agree that these phrases are mere a positive thinking and not so a practical solution for a daily life. But we need inspiration to overcome our self-interest and I believe that this video is opening that "door".
