Study: Texting Erodes Writing Skills? RU Kidding Me? - Pacific Standard: The Science of Society | Social Media Tips | Scoop.it
New research from two nations finds university students who text frequently have no problem switching over to formal English.

Susan Kay Daniels's insight:

Well, this is good news. Students who text frequently switch to formal English easily! In observing young people who text, as well as my own texting skills, it requires quick thinking and nimble thumbs. I feel compelled to tell you about my five year old grandson Luke. One of his imitations of his mother was to hold a little play cell phone while his thumbs went crazy! LOL!

Warmly,

Susan Daniels

In the wrong hands, this is just layering over what already is not working. We need something different, full of risk, and creative.

Looks useful and can be integrated into more traditional learning.

This is a very nice tongue-in-cheek infographic. Yet, quite informative :) Warmly, Susan
