Good Content Marketing Starts With Knowing Your Customers

Good Content Marketing Starts With Knowing Your Customers | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

All this fuss about “content marketing” has a lot of entrepreneurs scratching their heads. How do I do it? Where do I begin? What exactly is it?

Truthfully, I’m not sure when marketing wasn’t about delivering content. Marketers have always been in the business of attracting customers with a product and brand proposition, but a brand has to have something to say. In order to do that, a brand has to have meaningful content. Seems rather obvious, actually.

How to Use Twitter To Check Out Your Competition

How to Use Twitter To Check Out Your Competition | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

Twitter is one of the most popular social networks for business – it gives you advantages that aren’t available on other platforms. Since so much Twitter data is open to the public, your brand can easily use this data to learn about your competitor’s followers and strategies. Most people will use the tactic of following everyone that follows their competition. You will get roughly 30% of those users following you back. However, this will become ineffective over time.

Prove that your brand is always on their game by using all of these free tools to be able to track your competition and gain a bigger audience.

Finally Human: Using Digital Media to Restore Culture & Better Our World

Finally Human: Using Digital Media to Restore Culture & Better Our World | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
What if technology could inspire us to be more human? Bob Hutchins explores this question and what our ever-connected world means for human connection.
donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): With the rise of social media, niche marketing, and the Attention Economy, we have seen a shift from mass-market directives to personal, value-adding communications. In the coming years, this trend will continue to accelerate, and we will see a greater number of brands adapt more “human” voices and personable styles of communication. But the revolution is still in its infancy. As more businesses discover success by practicing the core behaviors in Finally Human, the Attention Economy will tighten once more. In other words, user-attention will be captured by the brands who know how to act like humans, thereby shrinking the supply of ‘attention’ for brands that are late to the game. Currently, “being human” is something of a novelty in brand communications. It isn’t very common and consumers certainly don’t expect it. However, it’s only a matter of time before “being human” is the new baseline for successful brand communications.

Why Facebook Business Manager Doesn’t Suck

Why Facebook Business Manager Doesn’t Suck | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
Facebook Business Manager isn't as bad as people would have you believe. In fact, if you use it the right way, it can be a game-changer for your advertising.
donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): For the one man (or woman) show, account administration is not necessarily a concern, but if you manage a team administering your account through Business Manager, it is far easier than the traditional method. If you have a new employee who needs to be added across multiple pages and accounts you can do so very quickly by adding them to any relevant accounts they may be working on. Have you acquired a new client or created a new page and don’t want to have to go through the admin settings of each? Use the People and Assets tab in Business Manager to add them to only the assets they will be collaborating on and none of the rest. Projects allow you to bundle pages, ad accounts, product catalogs and other Business Manager assets into one folder and then share them all – in one click – with an individual. This can be a huge time saver.

The Injustice of Online Justice

The Injustice of Online Justice | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

The power of the Internet is perhaps nowhere more evident than in the speed with which the public metes out (in) justice.

donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): The Internet is a fast place. It’s easy to read, easy to skim, and easy to speak. Everything happens quickly. One hundred and eighty thousand tweets were posted in the time it took to type this sentence. That speed puts pressure on people looking to enact civilian justice. It leaves limited time for judgment or careful thought.

Why You Should Tweet 20+ Times Per Day – Case Study

Why You Should Tweet 20+ Times Per Day – Case Study | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
The amount of times you Tweet per day can greatly affect your growth on twitter. Here'
donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): Twitter is not like Facebook or Instagram. While Twitter has now implemented its version of an algorithm, it is very different from that of the Facebook algorithm. The fact remains that after ten minutes of publishing your tweet, few people will ever see the tweet. Therefore, you need to consistently tweet throughout the day. I suggest 15+ times per day, including retweets and replies. Most of my clients tweet 30+ times per day. Does that seem like too much? I assure you that it is not. If you don’t tweet 15+ times per day, you’ll limit your engagement, reach, follower growth and other measurable goals such as website and link clicks.
