Why Blogging Matters? #infographic #contentmarketing #blogging | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

Whether you have created a website because you own a small business, you want to support one of your hobbies, or you are becoming interested in affiliate marketing, there is one thing that you need that is content. One of the easiest ways you can add content to your webpage is through the addition of a blog. This infographic explains why blogging matters?

Study after study comes back with BLOGS being the engagement secret. Not hard to see why. Blogs are relevant (happening now), interactive and, if done right, quick easy reads.

donhornsby's insight:

(From the article): I'd like the sense that someone of taste and discretion and experience has already whittled down the choices. (That's the problem with search engines, by the way - no taste!) The world needs editing - and yes, I use that word advisedly. Give me the cheeses that matter, offer me a wine list that's manageable. And put all the information that's raining down on us from cyberspace in a convenient, easy-to-handle form. Sorry, I never intended to be a defence of newspapers!

How to Rock your Social Media in 30 minutes a day – infographic

With a defined social media strategy in place, marketers can rock social media in 30 minutes a day.

donhornsby's insight:

(From the article): The infographic below explains how having an over-arching social media strategy in place can save you time and make you a more effective social media strategist. This great infographic was developed by the talented Matt Wesson, a Marketing Content Specialist at the marketing automation company Pardot. It focuses on a six channel social media strategy, and how you can build engaged communities around your brand in as little as 30 minutes a day.

So how should you allocate your time on each channel? Well the  infographic breaks the recommended 30 minutes down as follows:

How to Show Your Clients the Value of Facebook in 7 Easy Steps

How to Show Your Clients the Value of Facebook in 7 Easy Steps | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

Have you ever had clients who weren't yet sold onFacebook? Most people know Facebook could potentially help them grow their businesses, but getting a page set up and managed properly can still be a daunting task for many folks.

First off, you might need to nudge your clients toward acting. When researching your pitch, find examples of similar businesses that have vibrant Facebook presences. Let the clients know what they're missing out on. You can also get their attention by showing them the data on Facebook's exponential user growth and the mind-blowing predictions of continued growth. Here you can even focus on the clients' particular markets. Finally, show them some examples of pages you've helped develop in order to establish your own credibility.

Join Brands Don't Buy Them
Agree with this infographic about what makes people loyal to brands. Brands are shorthand for contemporary life. We bundle so much meaning into brands such as Nike, Apple and REI that it would be hard to imagine modern life without these shortcuts.

Faith Popcorn famously said people don't BUY brands they JOIN them and these "loyalty" reasons can help form a brand people want to join.

[Infographic] Evolving SEO tactics: longer posts, Google+ and the tilde | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

This is an infographic about current SEO thinking with tips and tools to help sites rank better on search engines.

Most people have a general idea of how to optimize their content for search engines. That search engine algorithms are proprietary and evolving inevitably causes different opinions on SEO. Of course there’s another school of thought that minimal keyword research and a green-light from a SEO plugin are enough to publish a piece.

This infographic challenges writers and some of the preconceived notions about SEO. It has a mixture of tips and tools to help you rank better in search...

Great comment MizWalidah. I wold modify one point. Instead of "continually optimizing your meta keywords and tags" I would find ways to ping in fresh content such as User Generated Content from reviews or comments. Once a website I've SEOed is inside of Google's algorithm changing meta values that matter (mostly the page's title) can HURT SEO. I change titles VERY VERY carefully since the first rule of SEO is DO NO DAMAGE. The QDF (Quality Deserves Freshness) movement post Panda and Penguin LOVES it when a page pings, so I love the 1% of visitors who are willing to comment, review or otherwise contribute User Generated Content.

I DON'T play with meta nearly as much as you imply since to do so can look SPAMMY and cause real harm. The most important idea is creating content other people want to share. This is why I love GAMES and CONTESTS especially for bands. High engagement content such as Contests and Games can help with SEO and they can help create a distinct brand all bands need. Appreciate your enthusiasm, but be careful about meta (especially title) changes. Marty

So, whether you’re still struggling to measure social media effectiveness or simply want to declutter your measurement efforts, here’s your minimalist guide to social media metrics.

Define Your Goals

The bedrock of minimalist social media metrics is knowing what you are, what you do, and what you want.

In other words, you have to start by working out how social media fits into your brand’s overall business goals and objectives. Is social media the introduction, the deal-closer or something else altogether?

Who wants to be a social media marketer?

Heck, who doesn’t? All that wealth, influence and respect. And did I mention the women? Trust me, if there’s one thing that impresses a supermodel, it’s telling her all about the amazing cost per engagement rates on your latest Twitter ad campaign. It’s like virtual bling.

In all seriousness, social media marketing does require a specific set of skills, despite what the naysayers might propose. Moreover, with billions of users across scores of social networks (okay, only about half a dozen of them really matter), there’s an awful lot at stake, and a veritable smorgasbord of opportunity.

Check the infographic below for an overview on what it takes to become a social media marketing specialist.
