Always Be Connecting: Jill Rowley on the New ABCs of Social Selling

Always Be Connecting: Jill Rowley on the New ABCs of Social Selling | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it

She isn’t a salesperson. She’s an information concierge.

Jill Rowley, EloQueen and marketing automation evangelist, represents the transformation occurring in today’s sales organizations. Instead of waiting to push products and services at the bottom of the funnel, salespeople are now educators, thought leaders and trusted consultants. With the help of new technology and social networks, they build relationships with buyers far earlier and provide them with the information they need to succeed, whether or not a deal is in the works.

This is social selling, and Jill is at the forefront.

7 Reasons Why Keyword Phrases Aren’t Dead for SEO and Content Marketing | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
Think keywords don’t matter anymore? Wrong. Here are seven reasons why keywords are worth your time – Content Marketing Institute
donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): Don’t overlook keywords outright or insist on a short list of five. Whether it’s a set of 25, 250, or 500, target the right content or build some new pages. Your strategy will have some unexpected rewards. When you use each keyword phrase, it will resonate with all of the other words on the page. You’ll rank for any number of permutations. It’s always been that way with the internet. Increasingly, you’ll just have more opportunities to perform well for keyword variations and even words you never thought to include in your content. You have algorithm changes to thank.

Effective use of keywords involves planning and analysis. How are you managing your efforts?

The Two Pillars of Great Content

The Two Pillars of Great Content | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
When it comes to great content, I only have two pillars I adhere to--one extrinsic, and one intrinsic. So, here are the two bars any content I create must clear in order to actually make it to the page.

6 Key Steps to Generate More Business From LinkedIn | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
If you're looking to generate business on LinkedIn, here are six steps to consider in your process.
donhornsby's insight:
(From the article): This is perhaps the most important step of all. It's a lesson my business coach taught me a few years ago, and it's made a huge difference in my ability to close deals as a result. Here it is: Your "ask" must be in direct proportion to the amount of trust you've earned with the prospect up to that point. That's why Steps 1-3 in this post are critical - they help you build the "Know, Like and Trust" factors that are key to any business or professional relationship. The more value you give someone, the more helpful and useful you are, the more "right" you have to ask for time on the phone, or a free consultation, or make a sales offer.

You Don’t Have to Be on Every Social Network!

You Don’t Have to Be on Every Social Network! | Surviving Social Chaos | Scoop.it
It seems like there are new social media networks released every day. But before you dedicate yourself to a new platform, ask these three questions.
donhornsby's insight:
This is a must read for those who are wonderful which social media platforms to be on for their personal or business use.

(From the article): I will leave you with this: Don’t go “All In” on new social networks and features. Explore them. Test them out. However, stick to what is working well for your business as you dip your toes into new social networks and features. Guru’s will tell you to take a chance and jump all in; however, until you have the data and confidence to know that a social network or feature makes sense for your business, it is not responsible to go “all in.” More often than not, that shiny new object will be a disappointment and cost your business time and money. Don’t catch shiny new object syndrome; it can be fatal for your business.
