Thought it might be an interesting exercise to revisit key posts from Scenttrail Marketing. Curation Is The Next Web Revolution is why I got to play with Scoop.it.

After one of Scoop.it's founders, Marc Rougier, read this post they offered to let me play with their cool new tool while still in beta. Curation Is The Next Web Revolution feels more true today than when it was first shared in early 2011.

Curation is the best way to test content as I described in How I Use Scoop.it (http://sco.lt/5pwF6n). We are so committed to content curation we are building a new tool called CrowdFunde to help websites understand what content helps them the most.

Digital marketing has become one of the most focused on streams of marketing in the last few years. Three of the biggest digital marketing issues include social network marketing, mobile, SMS marketing, and content marketing. Here’s a brief look at each:

Social Network Marketing

As a marketing, you can rely on social media to connect, engage, and build relationships with current and potential customers.

Mobile / SMS Marketing

Mobile marketing is a term that covers several different methods of marketing through mobile devices. Mobile marketing can take several different shapes but one of the most popular is SMS marketing.

Content Marketing

Did you know that Twitter is grabbing more new registrations than Facebook, with more than half of its entire userbase compromised of people who have signed up in the last year, compared to just 19 percent for Mark Zuckerberg’s baby?

 

What if I said that almost a quarter (23 percent) of Facebook users check their account five or more times each day, Twitter users are 33 percent more likely to be Democrats or – sorry Foursquare – that 74 percent of Americans are unfamiliar with the concept of ‘checking in’.

   How teens use the internet, mobile phones, social media and social networking sites, as well as teencommunication preferences and online information consumption.

 

   More than 75 percent of teens are on social-media sites, with 93 percent of them on Facebook, according to the Pew Internet study that examined the behavior of teens online: http://slidesha.re/PSsGbU

 

 

   The study shows that teens turn to text messaging for communication instead of writing e-mails. 6 percent of teens use e-mail daily, while 39 percent say they never use e-mail. In contrast, 63 percent of teens text everyday, with some teens texting up to 100 messages a day.
