James Doty is no stranger to struggle. He served as a caregiver in a family whose mother was an invalid and father suffered from alcoholism. They were on public assistance all that time.

“My greatest wish is that by each of our actions, we create a "meme" of compassion that permeates our world and by doing so decreases suffering. That instead of reacting to negative behavior by, for example, spending billions on weapons to destroy lives, we are proactive and spend billions to improve lives..."

I had a talk today with a psychologist and we discussed whether people suffer the same mental disorders in other countries as we do here in the U.S., and he said no  and went on to say they have different issues. This article is so in tune with what is wrong in our society and how it is making us all sick. There are some very savvy people working on utilizing the healing benefits of compassion to heal us from the ravages of our culture. It is very much an eye-opener if you  believe that your mind has the power to heal your body.

Religious of the Sacred Heart join women and men of conscience in advocating against human trafficking, also called modern slavery. It has become a practice to bring particular attention to the tragedy of human trafficking during the annual NFL Super Bowl. This year, the big game will be played in New Orleans, known for its hospitality and commitment to "les bons temps." Unfortunately, where tourists congregate, so do traffickers. RSCJ have joined with others in New Orleans for more than a year to help with education and advocacy efforts. We invite you to play a part in our fight by joining us in prayer.

Psychopathy

Psychopathy | Survive the Psychopath | Scoop.it
Psychopathy is among the most difficult disorders to spot. The psychopath can appear normal, even charming. Underneath, they lack conscience and empathy, making them manipulative, volatile and often (but by no means always) criminal.

Radiating a convincing presence, like Andy has in this video, communicates having deep and passionate convictions. Real presence is not a superficial facade or manipulated image; it is an expression of his authentic being. How can you help but notice his assuredness and his character.

Mindfulness or contemplation over time will reveal the true character of a person.

"...we are called to stop, to choose silence and to open and let ourselves be opened to our inner depths where the Spirit of God allows us to feel, see and understand life and reality with God's heart.... Then in the secret place of the heart the Spirit gradually transforms our feelings and responses, and draws us into an intimate relationship with God." (#RSCJ2008Chapter)

Are psychopaths in the workplace on the rise and what does it mean?

Are psychopaths in the workplace on the rise and what does it mean? | Survive the Psychopath | Scoop.it
How can businesses deal with psychopathic employees? Dr. Paul Babiak, co-author of "Snakes in Suits: When Psychopaths Go to Work," explains.

Are most workplace psychopaths able to empathize at all?

Dr. Paul Babiak: Lack of empathy, remorse and guilt are some of the defining features of a psychopath, whether they are incarcerated, out in public or working for an organization.
So, I would say they are incapable of feeling any empathy for those they manipulate. They also do not feel any loyalty to their companies or teams, despite a persona (mask) that portrays them otherwise.

Psychopath = Aspergers?

Do people think Aspergers syndrome could be a variant of Psychopathic personality disorder, as they are characterised by similar symptoms.
Eli Sheva's insight:

Father Malachi Martin, one of the Holy Church's most recognized exorcists, may he rest in peace, would inform us that psychopathy, and all of the various names for mental disorders are actually demonic possessions to a lesser or greater degree.  Read his "Hostage to the Devil" and decide for yourself.

“The Psychopath Test” applied to evangelical Christianity – Mon pays

“The Psychopath Test” applied to evangelical Christianity – Mon pays | Survive the Psychopath | Scoop.it
I think that psychopaths like Kai Winn exist in real churches in real life. Evangelical Christianity would be a great place for a psychopath to “hide out,” especially at the top of a modern evangelical mega-church.
Eli Sheva's insight:

Psychopaths love to insinuate themselves into any situation where they will have access to a captive audience and the ability to manipulate, control and eventually, destroy their targets.
