MobiMOOC 2012: a free, open, online course on mobile learning - three weeks and 12 topics all related to mLearning.
If you visit this wiki, you probably want to register for the free, open and online MobiMOOC course which will run from Saturday 8 September - Sunday 30 September 2012 and will focus on learning/training with mobile devices (mLearning).
Dynamics of the course: a MOOC is all about dialogue, discussions and building upon each others experiences. We all have lived long enough to know more of certain areas than others. In a MOOC we come together to enhance our knowledge on a certain field by entering dialogues, enhancing our networks and ... having fun while doing it. As such each of the resources given by the facilitators or guides-on-the-side are just possible stepping stones, not the universal truth. By gathering together each one of us will grow by communicating with each other. Looking forward to all our discussions and insights! Delete the scoop?

EcoMOBILE (Ecosystems Mobile Outdoor Blended Immersive Learning Environment) is an extension of the EcoMUVE curriculum, developed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education with funding from the Institute of Education Sciences. In EcoMUVE, students explore a virtual representation of a pond ecosystem. In EcoMobile, funded by the National Science Foundation and Qualcomm's Wireless Reach initiative, students will use the EcoMUVE software and also extend their learning with mobile technologies through one or more field trips to a local pond environment. Two forms of technology for science education will enhance their experience in the real world. Delete the scoop?

Over the past several weeks UNESCO has been publishing individual titles in its Working Paper Series on Mobile Learning. Recently the Organization concluded the first phase of the Series by releasing two Global Themes papers. These papers, unlike previous titles, are not region-specific. At its core, the issues associated with mobile learning get to the very fundamentals of what happens in class everyday. At their best, cell phones and mobile devices seamlessly facilitate what students and teachers already do in thriving, inspiring classrooms. Students communicate and collaborate with each other and the teacher. They apply facts and information they’ve found to formulate or back up their ideas. They create projects to deepen their understanding, association with, and presentation of ideas. Via Nik Peachey Delete the scoop?
