Trisha Klancar's insight:

A great video to show some hope in a hard time.

Shelby Porter's comment, September 19, 2013 10:46 AM
This video is a great example of what a difference someone can make. Before this group started playing, you could see that most of the people on that room looked down, but they certainly got some sun and happiness brought to them. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, the littlest things can certainly make a difference.
Lauren Stahowiak's curator insight, February 27, 2:21 PM

Flashmobs bring so much positive energy to any environment. In Madrid, this video shows how positive vibes from music are contagious and transmitted into positive energy at an unemployment office. "Here comes the Sun" is a way of saying things are going to get better, just look at the bright side.

Migration and Geography

Trisha Klancar's insight:

I like this as it also sets up the beginning of the lesson if you were were unsure what to do with this.

Just in case a lot of perfectly sane Americans decide to migrate to a civilized country like Canada
Anhony DeSimone's curator insight, December 18, 2013 7:07 PM

Migration is what is need in order for the human race to relate to one another and survive. This shows us how we can learn form Migration from a geographical stand point. If you look at the Geography of how and where people move you will it will help you to develop a sense of what is next to come or what is needed to survive.

Trisha Klancar's insight:

Hey don't fill this in, just have a look....

A great lead in for your leadership program...introducing themselves...come back after summer with a photo project or an end of year secrets revealed project.

I am really big on the "a picture is worth a thousand words". I did  a similar project in English 12 ( graduating year)..PRE INTERNET! I gave kids a black and white picture and they had to write a story for it...or It was the picture they would submit to Kodak for a picture contest... always a great creative project to do... Easier now with internet and imovie... possibilities or limitless!

GUEST POST: Student Leadership Renewal Forms | More Than ... | Leadership Styles | Scoop.it
When the time comes for you to switch things up and refine Student Leadership, it will be helpful to know the strengths of your student leadership model. 5) What can we be doing to improve the Student Leadership program?
Trisha Klancar's insight:

Even though this has a religious side to it, I like the few questions and the approach to the renewal of leadership positions. Looking at students that run every year for council... maybe instead of just an election process there should be some form of journal reflection process also...what are they getting out of the leadership program?

Maybe some of you do this already,I liked the approach..always looking for ways to improve without reinventing the wheel!
