I personally love the explanation of the four characteristics of chronic disease on page 3. While advances in modern science have nearly doubled our lifespan in only four generations, our quality of life has not reached its full potential. This morning I turned on the TV and landed on a sales pitch for Nutribullet. I went online to look up the manual that comes with this blender and found some useful health tips at http://www.nutribullet.com/themes/73/docs/NutriBullet_Manual.pdf. See electronic (not print) page 18 for a list of foods to eat vs. foods to avoid. Also see a generic smoothie formula on e-page 20 and more specific smoothie recipes for various health benefits beginning with e-page 22. I am also intrigued by the Immunity Mix recipe on e-page 39 - the part where you use an orange with the rind. Well, there you have it folks!

I really enjoyed listening to this program on Fresh Air today. The guest, Jolie Kerr, took questions on how to remove all sorts of tough and even embarrassing stains. What I really like about her approach is that she often recommends using everyday, nontoxic solutions like lemon, salt, vinegar, and baking soda. She even has a nontoxic solution for killing mold or repelling insects. Incidentally, I hear that Splenda is a great way to get rid of ants.
