As it turns out, research on Brain Function, Healing and Mindfulness must include the affect Water has on our brain.  After all, we are 80% water.  Not only does it make intuitive sense but now empirical data and research support how important water is for Brain Based care.

When you are under chronic stress, your brain waves do not do not go through their regular cycle and become unbalanced.  Your brain doesn't unwind and reboot while you sleep which reduces your body's ability to heal, function and eliminated pain.

Posture is the window to your Brain

 

Approximately 90% of your brains energy is devoted to bipedalism (standing on 2 feet) and withstanding gravity.  That means only 10% is devoted to thinking, healing, immune function, digestion, etc... the brains main input and communication comes from the spine.  When we sit, the connection between our brain and nervous system is under stress.  Our body can not heal and fight disease when under repetitive and constant stress. Keep moving your spine.  Movement of the spine is vital for brain health!
