Even if leaders are highly critical and judgmental, they can create and nurture positive relationships by mindfully engaging in generative practices to create and sustain positive relationships with those around them. Here are just a few simple suggestions:

Unleash the strengths and the positive energy of others around you by emphasising and building on employees’ strengthsUse deliberate communications to help connect day to day work with a higher purpose that has meaning for your employeesPraise your employees for specific positive things that they have doneTake time to encourage your employees and support them when times are stressfulOffer to help out to ease the load when someone is strugglingKeep a gratitude log of all of the positive things you are grateful forCall or send personalised notes of gratitude on Thanksgiving, New Year’s and employees’ birthdaysBe compassionatePractice forgiveness with yourself and othersAnd, most importantly, take care of yourself, manage your own stress and energy, so that you can be a positive force each and every day no matter what happens around you

TOLLEC Bernard's insight:

Anne Landreat's curator insight, March 25, 10:16 AM

A Scientist Predicts the Future

A Scientist Predicts the Future | Strengths based approaches - Appreciative inquiry - Solution Focus - Involve Consulting | Scoop.it

When making predictions, I have two criteria: the laws of physics must be obeyed and prototypes must exist that demonstrate “proof of principle.” I’ve interviewed more than 300 of the world’s top scientists, and many allowed me into laboratories where they are inventing the future. Their accomplishments and dreams are eye-opening. From my conversations with them, here’s a glimpse of what to expect in the coming decades:
