I love the 55/5 Rule.

In many situations brilliant solutions come from great ideas.  However, great ideas are not always born from focusing on our most pressing problems, but from misdirected brainstorming sessions. We must be careful not to create a culture that sedates the problem with the “high” of a new idea. Strategy is born out of extraordinary problems and opportunities that make the future unclear.
