Courses • Competia competitive Intelligence

This course's objective is to provide to managers and executives with toolkits that allow them to not only be more efficient when doing online research, but also to identify sources of information that answer their information needs. Learn about the techniques and sources which are part of the "Invisible Web":information that is not yet indexed by search engines (about 70% of the total information about people, technologies and companies), and about the informal web: tracking customer perception, competitors' employees in informal and social networks. Particular emphasis is put on methods to find information about private companies (their alliance partners, marketing strategies, client lists, distribution networks, financial status, management bios, etc...). This course is fully interactive: each participant has access to a computer to practice techniques and test sources of information as the course unfolds.June/October 2017

Learning Agility for Competitive Intelligence

Learning Agility for Competitive Intelligence | Strategy and Competitive Intelligence by Bonnie Hohhof | Scoop.it

The principles of Agile for software development are nothing new. In fact, Agile has been around for over 15 years, after it was first coined by software developers in 2001. At that time, 12 Agile Principles for Software Development were formed, as well as the Agile Manifesto, which are today overseen by the Agile Alliance.

In recent years, Agile has undergone a transformation. Modern Agile is a new concept introduced by a community of Agile professionals to help simplify the relative complexities of the traditional Agile principles and broaden the relevance to areas beyond software development. It's the start of a new quest for Eigenworks; we’re calling it Agility for Competitive Intelligence.

Tag – You’re It! | Strategy and Competitive Intelligence by Bonnie Hohhof | Scoop.it

was reading the most recent issue of Successful Meetings. Why, you ask? Because if I am going to work – or protect – a meeting, conference or trade show with respect to CI, I should how they are being run and how they are changing.  Anyway, it had an interesting article for people who are being told that they are now doing meeting planning in addition to everything else they do[1]. Taking it as inspiration, here are a couple of tips for DIYers who are (suddenly) told “Well, you know all about competitive intelligence, so why don’t you provide us with some in addition to everything else you are doing”:

Counterintelligence Relevance

Counterintelligence Relevance | Strategy and Competitive Intelligence by Bonnie Hohhof | Scoop.it

In the business world, intelligence is information. Intelligence gives a business decision making support and a strategic advantage. Counterintelligence is information that is able to be used to defend something from an opposition or competing entity and the processes and tools used to detect, gather, analyze and apply that information. While competitive intelligence entails gathering information, counterintelligence deals with protecting information from individuals and organizations, avoiding threats and enhancing security. It not only protects against the illegal gathering of information, but also against collection efforts that can danger a company and affect its competitive ability

Are Your Market Assumptions Still True?

Are Your Market Assumptions Still True? | Strategy and Competitive Intelligence by Bonnie Hohhof | Scoop.it

Stall points and incorrect market assumptions can almost be looked at as a Shakespearian tragedy. At some point, the market assumptions that allowed for the rise of a successful enterprise will no longer be true. Many companies are ill-equipped to recognize when their market assumptions are no longer true.
