A snake in the garden

A snake in the garden | Storytelling for young learners | Scoop.it

I was born in a country often called the 'White man's grave', because so many white people died of Malaria. Anyway, one day I was standing in the garden of our house looking at the butterflies and the beautiful plants when suddenly I looked down and saw a green snake around my leg. It must have thought my leg was a tree trunk. My heart started beating fast and I started trying to remember if this green snake was poisonous or not. The snake didn't move and quickly I realised it was asleep. After a few minutes I decided that it was only a grass snake and slowly unwound it. Guess what? The snake never woke up.

Is this a true story or not? What do you think?
