Kiefer Products

Katie Lafferty's insight:

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/10/prweb8897954.htm

When Adolph Kiefer began his business there was a huge need for safety products in society. There was also a need within the competitive swimming world for more efficient products and swim wear. In the competitive swim world, Kiefer designed the first nylon suit compared to the wool suits that swimmers had been wearing. He also patented the first kick board and lane line. In the safety world, Kiefer designed and sold lifeguarding equipment which was huge at the time because a lot of the US Navy did not know how to swim. Kiefer products are still the go to equipment source for many lifeguarding facilities today.

TYR Products

Katie Lafferty's insight:

http://www.tyr.com/about/

TYR was first founded with the intentions of designing fun and competition driven prints. The need for another swim brand was not necessarily there. The swimming world already had Speedo, Kiefer, and Adidas. The need for fun and fashionable swim products is the approach that TYR took. Although the need for another "high end" swim wear company was not needed at the time, TYR continues to be one the top brands used today by competitive swimmers and recreational swimmers everywhere.
