Even with the reported security issues, XP still lives on in a vast number of organizations.  We’re not just talking about small organizations here.  Government agencies are in the mix and  XP remains the second largest operating system out there behind Windows 7.  Vulnerabilities are going to grow and organizations using antiquated software will start to feel the pain by not being able to keep up with the rest of the world.  But the fly in the ointment truly is the lack of security that accompanies Windows XP.  Upgrade now or potentially see your organization falling prey to a breach.

Ultimately and despite the angst about the Series A Crunch (and now the Series B Crunch), the reality is that these “crunches” are mostly just the inevitable natural selection process that is venture capital.  Not everyone can be above average, and for VCs who are stewards of LP money, average is the enemy.

Oh for the good old days…  BYOD causing employees burnout and they are unable to “unplug” after hours.  I don’t necessarily just see it as a BYOD issue only.  The mobile mantra of everywhere and anywhere comes to mind.  Have you ever gotten a text message AND responded to it around midnight? This is not isolated to BYOD alone.  As with other aspects of one’s life – you have to learn to power down.  Go out and smell the roses from time to time.
