Winning contests and prizes without ever impacting one life is not a viable business model. To create the permanent changes we desire, social entrepreneurs need to demand real-world results before offering rewards and celebrity.
Social entrepreneurship is different than social media marketing. Social entrepreneurs use marketing tactics to "sell" for the social good. Most don't make profits, but they make a difference. When Toms gives away shoes they are practicing social entrepreneurship. Since Corporate Social Responsibility is on the rise social entrepreneurship should be too.
