Stakeholder Mapping for Collaboration

Stakeholder Mapping for Collaboration | Design Thinking & Start-up | Scoop.it

Collaboration is an important factor for successful innovation and change. Indeed, collaboration is an imperative for most organizations today, including any organization undergoing change. Innovation requires collaboration between individuals, as well as systemic forms of collaboration that span silos, networks and surprising connections. And yet collaboration cannot be mandated. Collaboration just doesn’t work like that.

Most stakeholder «management» tools and techniques are based on measuring (whatever it means) Power and Influence. This is mostly done without open discussion with the stakeholders and highly manipulative in its intent. It does not either consider meta game and alliance among unlikely collaborators. The model you found, Kenneth is thus a pace towards a better way, something that «engage» stakeholders instead of «managing/trying to manipulate» them. Thanks a lot :)

Stephen Dale I've been following Dion Hinchcliffe for many years as well. You're fortunate to have met him in London. You bring up a very good point about monitoring our every move. As you say, there is a price we will pay one way or another for privacy and time will tell how this will all shake out in the end. I'd love to connect with you again, it's been a while. As you can see I launched Curatti and we've been very well received. Hope things are going well with you, let's catch up soon.

Sound good Jan. I have been following Curatti since you launched - it's one of my top sources for news/content. Think we should arrange a Skype call sometime - unless you plan to visit London, in which case lunch is on me!

Paolo Lorenzoni: Where Lean Startups and Design Thinking Meet - The Accelerators - WSJ | Design Thinking & Start-up | Scoop.it
Paolo Lorenzoni, Project Lead & Business Designer at IDEO: Many lean startup practitioners have a tendency to treat everything as “pivotable.” This can be dangerous because it turns lean startup into a mechanistic trial and error exercise. The lack of intent makes it easy to get lost. To avoid this fate, it's helpful to anchor lean techniques around an observed human need, which is supplied by design thinking...
Lars Stalling's insight:

Design Thinking can produce insights and create new ideas (soft) while LEAN can provide data (hard) to validate if you're on the right track. It is crucial for start-ups to resist the temptation to blindly follow the hard data and not lose track of the value of soft insights to create new options.

Becoming irresistible: A new model for employee engagement

Becoming irresistible: A new model for employee engagement | Design Thinking & Start-up | Scoop.it

The employee-work contract has changed, compelling business leaders to build organizations that engage employees as sensitive, passionate, creative contributors.

The employee-work contract has changed: People are operating more like free agents than in the past. In short, the balance of power has shifted from employer to employee, forcing business leaders to learn how to build an organization that engages employees as sensitive, passionate, creative contributors.

Two years of research and discussions with hundreds of clients suggest five major elements and underlying strategies that work together to make organizations “irresistible.”

Kenneth Mikkelsen's curator insight, January 26, 2015 7:22 PM

Deloitte's  research suggests that we need to rethink the problem. There are three issues to address:

  1. Companies need to expand their thinking about what “engagement” means today, giving managers and leaders specific practices they can adopt, and holding line leaders accountable. Here Deloitte suggests 5 elements and 20 specific practices.
  2. Companies need tools and methods that measure and capture employee feedback and sentiment on a real-time, local basis so they can continuously adjust management practices and the work environment at a local level. These tools include employee feedback systems as well as data analytics systems that help identify and predict factors that create low engagement and retention problems.
  3. Leaders in business and HR need to raise employee engagement from an HR program to a core business strategy.

The Must-Have Mobile App Metrics Your Business Cannot Do Without

The Must-Have Mobile App Metrics Your Business Cannot Do Without | Design Thinking & Start-up | Scoop.it

This article is a summary of the AppInTop mobile app marketing podcast in which AppInTop talked with CTO and co-founder of the mobile analytics company Adjust.com, Paul Müller, and senior account strategist at Google, Stanislav Vidyaev. This summary covers some key facts about mobile analytics.

The way people interact with an app is different from the way they use websites. Mobile app analytics is about converting ad budgets to installs, and installs to repeated app usage and in-app purchases. Ultimately, the objective of a mobile app developer is to evaluate user lifetime value, retention, and the frequency of usage.
