Mordasini. D’où l’urgence d’investir rapidement dans des solutions pratiques pour renforcer leur résilience, explique le  vice-président du FIDA.

The Senegal meteorological service (ANCIM) has joined forces with the CGIAR program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) to bring this information directly to farmers such as Papa Samba and Alimou. “We are able to select the right seeds for the season,” they both agree.

Participatory action of weather predictions can involve farmers and villagers in a way that not only increases capacity and awareness for the technology, but also helps them to farm productively.  However, is this method of local sources of real-time weather information sustainable?
