Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Captain Kirk vs Captain Picard

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Captain Kirk vs Captain Picard | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Captain James T. Kirk never hesitates in battle. Steady Phasers, Fire! Point blank! Fire! So you've gotta wonder, which Federation captain is the superior tactician? Is it Kirk or Captain Jean Luc Picard? Stupid question, maybe, nevertheless Captain Kirk fires point blank upon a 24th century Galaxy class, Federation starship and kicks her 641 meter ass, while Mr Spock's analytical brain pores over critical tactical data relayed from his Science station.

Yes, Kirk has excellent lieutenants serving aboard his wee USS Enterprise NCC 1701 289 meter starship. Pitted against their original USS Enterprise NCC 1701, this encounter proves to be more than an interesting challenge for the officers aboard the flagship USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D, with the lovely Counsellor Deanna Troi, Geordi and Data demonstrating the only sparks of eagerness to save their ship.

Full phasers, Fire! Kirk never disappoints but Picard

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Kirk vs the Gorn

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Kirk vs the Gorn | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Here is a large, immensely powerful, hissing, reptilian creature with sharp claws and spikey, sharp, teeth. Thats right he's the Gorn. Look at the color of the its scaly skin and the fierceness of those terrifying teeth. When I watched Star Trek TOS "Arena" episode for the first time I was highly entertained by the worst Star Trek fight of all time but something puzzled me.

The lizard Gorn's character played by both Gary Coombs and Bobby Clark demonstrates a true warrior bred for fighting. This alien creature obviously means business! I mean watch how easily the lizard creature catapults that massive rock at Captain Kirk! The strength of Gorn is pure awesome but being a lizard sure can be major drag sometimes! Captain Kirk has to engage this beast in a fight to the death. Now I have to ask why doesn't Captain Gorn just chomp off Kirk's head when he gets him in that deadly wrestling grip?

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Orion Slave Girl

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Orion Slave Girl | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Star Trek is famous for its Green skinned Orion "Slave" Women wearing skimpy sexy costumes.

In our politically correct world I'm not so sure "Slave" is appropriate but I've no qualms about the rest! XD. Orion's are marketed as a precious commodity in the Slave markets of the Orion Syndicate but its funny. These sensuous "Slave" Women are in essence "merchandise" enslaving the likes of Captain Kirk, Mr Spock, Scotty and Chekov with their charms. Orion girls are also known as Orion "Animal" Women probably because they have extremely passionate desires. Their cravings for human males has melted legions of human hearts snuffing out even our willpower to resist, so if you meet one lads why resist? Just give in!

Orion Women have the power and seductive charms to.....

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: USS Defiant NX 74205

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: USS Defiant NX 74205 | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Starfleet's first true warship is the USS Defiant NX-74205 launched in 2366. What makes this tough little ship so special is it ablative armour capable of deflecting Borg firepower. The defiant class is incorporated with a state of the art multi targeting array, capable of reacting rapidly with modulating phaser frequencies designed to cut through even the toughest enemy shields. This tough little fighter was developed and built at the Mars Utopia Planitia Fleetyards under the watchful eyes of Commander Benjamin Sisco.

Sisco's Defiant was originally intended to fight the Borg thick skins with its multiple torpedo launchers. Earlier prototypes had a more conventional design, with the warp nacelles on out riggers. However this design is later abandoned in favor of.......

Remember Star Treks TNG episode " The Host?" Chief Medical officer, Dr Beverly Crusher gets the shock of her life when she falls in love with a trill humanoid who checks out rather unexpectedly. A gob smacked Beverly soon discovers that her sweetheart Ambassador has a weird creature entity called 'Odin' lurking inside him, ultimately in dire need of a new body. So a new replacement host body is duly ordered to join with the 'Odin creature' whose memories and wealth of experiences are shared and live on with the current trill host. Poor Dr Beverly can do little but wait desperately with rising hopes for the arrival of her lovers new Trill host body.

As time passes Beverly Crusher's heart sinks to the deckplates to learn that the new host is not exactly a dream come true. The new talking, walking trill recepticle is......

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Seven of Nine

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Seven of Nine | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

In 2374 Seven of nine was captured and liberated by the friendly intrepid class USS Voyager (NCC-74656). This spectacular Borg drone was skillfully played by Jeri Ryan in her awesome Starfleet costumes that just made my heart flutter. But Seven, as we got to know her was more than just a piece of skirt. Her cool, indifferent character proved to be a valuable member of Voyager's crew and as she struggled to free her mind from the Collective Hive Mind and regain her individuality something happened.

Yes I got excited watching Jeri stride accross the deckplates all packaged up in that shiney fabric but it wasn't that. For the first time in her life, she had to cope without the help of the "other voices" from the unified Borg drones to reassure her. Seven of nine was discovering her human identity and unfettered by her seperation, Seven delivered on time and dispensed with formalities in that firey Borg voice of hers. I guess you could say, Voyager's crew welcomed her into their human starship collective.

Assimulated from an early age of seven in 2355 on the USS Raven, Seven has only...

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Scotty's Laws of Physics

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Scotty's Laws of Physics | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Scotty's 24 Laws of Physics

1. Call me Scotty. I may be captain by rank... but I never wanted to be anything else but an engineer.
2. Never let Mr Spock know exactly what your thinking... Vulcans are greedy for knowledge and want to read your mind.
3. Don't react when Klingons call Captain James T. Kirk a tin plated over bearing, swaggering dictator with delusions of Godhood. Keep your cool, sit down and finish your drink. Its simply not worth fighting about.
4. Don't be fooled by Shapeshifters. When in doubt speak in code and defeat your enemies with puzzles they cannot answer.
5. "Starship captains are like children. They want everything right now and they want it their way. The secret is to give them what they need, not what they want.
6. A fused dilithium crystal converter defies the laws of physics when trying to repel Klingon warships.

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Jack the Ripper

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: Jack the Ripper | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

Who or what is Jack the Ripper? Our pointy eared friend, Mr Spock from Star Trek the Original Series has an interesting theory. The vulcan suggests that Jack the Ripper is essentially a "Ripper entity" and may not possess physical form. Instead the entity feeds off fearful humanoids terrorizing the wits out of its victims before taking possession of their minds and bodies! On the planet Argelius II, a black cloud looms over the Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701, when Scotty is found gripping a knife with a lovely belly dancer stabbed to death at his feet.

What makes Star Trek's TOS "Wolf In the Fold" frantically funny is Scotty can't remember anything which makes him look pretty guilty. I mean the guy is covered in the girls blood. Yup, right up to his eyeballs, so its worse than bad. Scotty's goose....

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: The Great Crystalline Entity

Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog.: The Great Crystalline Entity | Star Trek - Sci Fi Blog | Scoop.it

The Crystalline Entity is a fascinating space born lifeform whose amazing structure is quite beautiful to look at. Its elegant mass sparkles like a giant snowflake, allowing it to travel through the galaxy at high warp. However its exact origin and purpose is unknown. In Star Trek's TNG "Datalore" fans encounter Data's deadly brother Lore and the great Crystalline Entity who've been in cahoots together all along! The entities constant hunger for energy meant it thrived by feeding off the organic energy patterns of unsuspecting human lifeforms! I believe the creatures hungry appetite for living energy was its major weakness.

This lifeform needs to convert entire civilizations, vegetation and bacteria to power its electromagnetic anatomy. Humans were in essence its......
