This resource is effective for both the planning and implementation stage of a lesson on place value. The teacher is able to search a particular units of work e.g.  place value, then filter her results to receive the required grade and material type (assessment, information video, interactive games etc.) This ensures that the task is adequately  adjusted to the needs and ability level of the class.

This resources is a video describing a fun and engaging lesson on place value that can be used in a stage 3 classroom. The lesson has the students playing a real life version of angry birds (a widely popular game played by most primary aged students). The boxes that they knock over represent different place values and after each round the student must add together the different place values.  This lesson can also be connected to measurement, geometry, addition, skip counting and money.
