The team includes Ms. Dorothy, garden volunteer, Linda Sanders, Principal and Adele Meadows, Resource teacher. Discussion centered around goals for the garden, types of garden structures and placement of garden beds.

Ron Wolford, University of Illinois Extension Urban Horticulture Educator met with the garden committee representing grades 1-8. Students discussed vegetables and flowers they wanted to grow. The committee also wants to build a raised bed with SPN spelled out in flowers near the front of the school. We also spent time talking about how much sun vegetables need to grow (6-8 hours) and how many hours of full sun we actually would receive each day on the school's garden plots.
