Very well written article on the tradition of wishing opponents good luck and the understanding of an underlying respect for sport, each opponents commitment, and good sportsmanship.

Players need to have more sportsmanship because as much as players get traded, the player you just hurt could be your teammate next year. Respect is a big part of the game.
