Ryan McKenna's curator insight, October 15, 2014 8:39 AM

This article helps to show that it is very important to keep all that attend a specific event safe. As the number of attendees grow, the risk grows as well. It is very important to make sure that having the right people to help control the crowds because if not then things can get very out of hand. I chose this article because it helps to show that there are all different aspects of the sport management industry. Not everything is just about the people playing and the coaches. There are a lot of other jobs that can be just as important as and even maybe more important then the big major titles. I thought this article was interesting because I never really thought about how much planning went into the security and people who keep others safe at sporting events. You just see them and don't rely think much past that. This helps with the sport management industry because it shows the other smaller jobs that are just important. Many jobs which may seem like the person is not doing anything, but actually having to be on guard at all times to help make sure the event runs smoothly.
