Embree Exposes Plight of Minority Head Football Coaches - Higher ... | Sports Ethics: Krisko, T. | Scoop.it
Few minorities obtain opportunities as head coaches because so few are interviewed. According to the Institute for the Diversity and Ethics in Sports at the University of Central Florida, 76 percent of school presidents and 84 ...
Timothy Krisko's insight:

I commend you Embree for the positive work you have accomplished being a leader of men at Colorado.  I hear the pleas of minorities, because I am one myself.  You should be grouped into the percentage of coaches that will not get hired back because your record was horrible.  I would not hire you ever again as a football coach either.  Although, according to the numbers, you might have a point about minority coaches.  Is the sports world discriminating with head coaches of major universities?  I guess there will be more to come on this subject.  Be on the lookout.

Coach Woods!!  A little too much.  You don't gain the respect of your players that way.  Be a leader not a manager.

Sports ethics expert praises ex-WSU player for speaking out | KPLU ... | Sports Ethics: Krisko, T. | Scoop.it
Over the weekend, university president Elson Floyd asked for outside help to investigate claims by a player of abusive behavior by the coaching staff. Meanwhile, a sports ethics expert is praising the player for speaking out.
Timothy Krisko's insight:

Whoa!  Is this true, or just a plea for a players wrongdoings.  I can not wait for this story to deveope, we are either going to see some coaches getting the ax, or a players reputation scared.  If the this ex-WSU player is right, things could be very shaky at this school for quite some time.

Pablo Nunez's curator insight, November 17, 2013 2:23 PM

I hope more athletes will be encouraged to take a stand against unethical behavior be it from a staff member or teammate.

Wendy R's curator insight, April 18, 2014 8:42 PM

"Laughable?" a bit derogatory isn't it?  How about something along the lines of, "We are unclear as to where these allegations came from, we don't coach in the manner he described, but we are eager to get to the bottom of this as fast and as civilized as possible."

Josh Laker's curator insight, May 11, 2014 12:14 PM

Over the past few years the media has reported on coaches abusing players.  This article brings to light allegations of abuse at Washington State University.

Ethics Commission says Decatur High coaches likely broke ethics ... | Sports Ethics: Krisko, T. | Scoop.it
The Alabama Ethics Commission this afternoon found that nearly two dozen Decatur High School coaches ran afoul of state ethics law when they accepted monetary Christmas gifts from the school's booster club in 2011.
Timothy Krisko's insight:

More trouble in Alabama.  No Christmas for coaches?  Is it unethical for a coach to recieve a gift from a booster club over $25?  How much money is too much?  This law could bring back the true meaning of Christmas.  I think players should wash cars, or clean house for a gift.  It's free!
