If the weight is too heavy to hold its probably to heavy to do the exercise with good form and the people around you will not enjoy their time at the gym if they have to avoid you. The gym member in the video is a great example of what NOT to do at the gym. At around the 0:48 second mark you even see another gym member trying to pick up the weight. No one but him knows what he was intending on trying to do with the 120 pound dumbbell as his back is not straight at all. I can just imagine an x-ray picture of his back from years of back posture and spinal sublimation all over the place. OUCH!

It seems to me that listening to your trainer is a great idea. A trainer will know what they are doing when they ask you as a client to do an exercise or activity you might not normally do or might think is silly. Is it right to argue or complain excessively?
