Evidence Search | Search Engine for Evidence in Health and Social Care
Karen Butcher's insight:

The BNF and Childrens BNF are both available online free of charge via the NHS Evidence website. Simply click the links at the top of the page (URL is: http://www.evidence.nhs.uk/). There is no need to sign in.

Access to the BNF app is restricted to students on NHS commissioned courses - which unfotunately  does not apply to pharmacy students

We also have print copies of both these items ; shelved on the second floor of the Penrhyn Road LRC at 615.13 BRI (if all of these are borrowed there are copies in our desk loan colleciton - ask for hese at the ground floor heldesk)

Pharmacists' conduct, ethics and performance | General Pharmaceutical Council

Standards for conduct, ethics and performance set out the behaviours, attitudes and values expected of pharmacy professionals and explain the standards that all pharmacy professionals must comply with. They also inform patients and the public of the standards that they can expect of pharmacy professionals.

Karen Butcher's insight:

Find out here what is expected of you as you progress in your chosen career:

https://www.pharmacyregulation.org/sites/default/files/standards_of_conduct_ethics_and_performance_july_2014.pdf

There are some useful guidance documents on the GPC's webpages about the code of conduct, ethics and performance levels expected :

Pharmaceutical Service Negotiating Committee

Pharmaceutical Service Negotiating Committee | Pharmacy and Chemistry | Scoop.it

PSNC promotes and supports the interests of all NHS community pharmacies in England. We are recognised by the Secretary of State for Health as the body that represents NHS pharmacy contractors. We work closely with Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs) to support their role as the local NHS representative organisations.

Our goal is to develop the NHS community pharmacy service, to enable community pharmacies to offer an increased range of high quality and fully funded services that meet the needs of their local communities and provide value and good health outcomes for the NHS and the public.

We work with NHS England and other NHS bodies, and with the Department of Health, to promote opportunities for the development of community pharmacy services, and negotiate the contractual terms for the provision of NHS community pharmacy services.

PSNC works closely with its sister body Community Pharmacy Wales (CPW) which represents community pharmacy in Wales.

Karen Butcher's insight:

Use the PSNC website to find out the latest developments in NHS community pharmacies, as well as the regulations governing them (http://psnc.org.uk/contract-it/pharmacy-regulation/)
