Spiritual Adepts
The way which is universal is the way of the mystics. If one wants to awaken to an ageless wisdom which is universal, one can see the way in the vision of mystics; the spiritual adepts of all traditions. Today one can embrace and explore the way of spiritual adepts without embracing any one isolated cultural tradition but rather by embracing the way and guidance of great souls from within any or many traditions. The great spiritual masters of the past were often; but not always, associated with the tradition of their culture. Most could not be confined by religious dogma. The truly great souls of humanity are always in some way revolutionary, revolutionary in their ability to revive the ageless wisdom tradition. Some may be priestly, many are not. Most are some sort of practitioner “yogi, alchemist” other may be known as Advahutas i.e. liberated souls. So today a universalist may embrace a traditional religion, or one may associate with no singular religious tradition.

Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramhansa Yogananda - Crystal Clarity Publishers

Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramhansa Yogananda - Crystal Clarity Publishers | Spiritual Adepts | Scoop.it
The northern Himalayan crags near Badrinarayan are still blessed by the living presence of Babaji, guru of Lahiri Mahasaya. The secluded master has retained his physical form for centuries, perhaps for millenniums. The deathless Babaji is an avatara. This Sanskrit word means "descent"; its roots are ava, "down," and tri, "to pass." In the Hindu scriptures, avatara signifies the descent of Divinity into flesh.
"Babaji's spiritual state is beyond human comprehension," Sri Yukteswar explained to me. "The dwarfed vision of men cannot pierce to his transcendental star. One attempts in vain even to picture the avatar's attainment. It is inconceivable."

Establishing all beings in the dharma ~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche - Just Dharma Quotes

Establishing all beings in the dharma ~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche - Just Dharma Quotes | Spiritual Adepts | Scoop.it
A bodhisattva benefits all beings equally, without discriminating between enemies and friends. Giving food, clothes and the like to others can only bring them temporary and limited relief; it does not help them at the moment they die, nor after their death. But if you can establish all beings in the dharma, you will help …

Sir Francis Bacon, the Count of St. Germain, the Supernova of 1604 and the 800 Year Spiritual Cycle

Sir Francis Bacon, the Count of St. Germain, the Supernova of 1604 and the 800 Year Spiritual Cycle | Spiritual Adepts | Scoop.it
TextBased on the fact that Jesus Christ was born at one of these aspects (Remember the Bethlehem Star?), I suspect that these astrological configurations are some highly significant spiritual harbingers. The astrologers picked the only notable character they knew for the first 800 year aspect after Christ. Charlemagne accomplished much for Europe but he was hardly on par with the Piscean Master. There is one in the East who lived 800 years after Christ who was equal to the task of bringing a great Light to the earth. This is what H. P. Blavatsky had to say about him:

Masters of the Ancient Wisdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Masters of the Ancient Wisdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | Spiritual Adepts | Scoop.it
The Mahatmas are what the Mahayana Buddhists call bodhisattvas. They choose to retain the body, not because of any fault in their development but as an act of self-sacrifice. Possessing a physical body subjects the adepts to certain unavoidable limitations. As Blavatsky said, they “are living men, born as we are born, and doomed to die like every mortal.”[3] Being perfect yogis, they have learned how to take care of their bodies so that they can live much longer than ordinary human beings; nevertheless, the bodies must eventually die.

Buddhist Alchemists

Buddhist Alchemists | Spiritual Adepts | Scoop.it
The two most famous Buddhist alchemists of ancient India were the Mahasiddhas Nagarjuna and his student, Kharnaripa, who is also known as Aryadeva. From India, the mahasiddha tradition continued on into Tibet from the 8th Century A.C.E. onward, communicated through the rich lives of many saints too numerous to name here. A few of the more famous Buddhist alchemists known in Tibet were the Indian master Guru Padmasambhava and his lineage of saints called the tertons, or "treasure revealers."
