Leave My Brand Alone - What happens when the brands we favor come under attack?

It makes sense when people rush to the defense of close family members or even particular places or objects with special significance—think of the house you grew up in, or the bed you have had since childhood. But why do people rush to the defense of brands?

Luís Bastos's curator insight, January 15, 2013 7:59 AM

Future research will be focused on bringing down cost of nanomaterials for batteries, and making sure they stand up to the requirements of large-scale commercial applications. Research on using nanotechnology for the enhancement of electric vehicle batteries is ongoing - although there are many highly promising materials available, it is not yet clear if any will be able to stand up to the commercial rigours of the automotive industry, and any substantial shift away from fossil fuel in transport is still a long way off.

Give people great content and they will stay engauged. Keep them engaged in your topic and they are more enticed to stay loyal. That is what we continue to share with the businesses we are working with.

Networking site gets to 200 million after launching more ad products

As LinkedIn reaches 200 million users, will ads follow?
Just weeks after unveiling an ad-tool builder, LinkedIn has announced that is has crossed the 200 million-user mark. Those users are mostly in the U.S. (74 million), with India's 18 million users coming in second, and the U.K. in third with 11 million. "Though the lion's share of the company's revenue stems from recruitment and HR-related products, it will be worth watching to see if more brands take to advertising on the site during 2013 now that there are more options," writes Christopher Heine.

Pedro Barbosa's insight:

When I entered Linkedin back in 2006, it had 300 000 useres. We considered it amazing.  Do you see how this all is relative? Now they have 200 million and the connections are absolutly intense. The won the mainstream-professional base.

Linkedin is possibly one of the top3 digital spots to fuind good content about a specific theme, since themes are organized by crowdsourced ppl.

Congrats, Linkedin - the best is yet to come

Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics]

Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics] | Speculations and Trends | Scoop.it

Two infographics provide data and tips to explain why brands must leverage visual social media in 2013 to stay relevant and grow.

Today, the marketing world is still hot on the social media marketing trail, but the trail has diverged. There are different paths with cheerleaders along the way no matter which path a marketer follows.

Ideally, marketers should find the path down the middle that marries all of the elements of social media marketing, but most are not there yet. Many of today’s marketers are still choosing a single path to focus on or jumping back and forth.

For example, those paths include the data and metrics focus, the storytelling focus, the visual focus, and more. This article hones in on the visual focus with the help of two great infographics that visually share the data and tell the story of visual storytelling...
