The piece that stands out to me in this great explanation of the benefits of content curation is the benefits of the three C's at work in this example.

Give people great content and they will stay engauged. Keep them engaged in your topic and they are more enticed to stay loyal. That is what we continue to share with the businesses we are working with.

Content Curation – When Did It Begin? | Business 2 Community | Speculations and Trends | Scoop.it

Fascinating post... If you’re doing any reading about Content Curation as part of an overall content marketing strategy, you sometimes see writers referring to this as something new. I remember when I started really getting interested in it back in 2011. So is it new? When did content curation begin to be included as a content marketing strategy? When did Content Curation Begin? Actually, it’s a pretty broad question, so let’s narrow it down to this: when did Content Curation begin to be discussed as a strategic content marketing tactic? I turned to our good friend Google, using time-sensitive searches to see what I could find....

The advantages of combining medical data bases across the globe improve these resutls, the challenge is to make the access cheap and ubitious.

Joe Stafura's comment, June 6, 2013 5:32 PM
There are a couple obvious advantages, most importantly the nature of diagnosis lends itself to high success at prediction by computing methods, secondly the cost of diagnosis be tied to a Moore's Law trajectory in many cases. The other advantage is the opportunity for Doctors to move more quickly into what they do best, fix people. And a good part of that is moving to robotics in the operating rooms for safer, more successful procedures. Doctors will always be here doing something to cure us, but like every other work force they are and will be changed by technology, and ibises on measured outcomes, usually for the better.

Lifelogging, a última tendência na área do blogging? O conceito é novo e há quem o defenda como uma tendência entre os coolhunters mais avançados.

Eu confesso as minhas reservas.

As consumers increasingly turn to their mobile phones, it is critical for businesses to understand the range of “mobile conversions” that can occur, such as phone calls, store visits, or purchases on other devices. In partnership with Nielsen, Google analyzed over 6000 mobile searches and the actions that resulted, drawing precise and measurable connections between mobile searches and the online and offline conversions that they drive.

The 2 Most Important Skills Every Teacher Needs

The 2 Most Important Skills Every Teacher Needs | Speculations and Trends | Scoop.it

"Over the past nine years I have had the pleasure of hiring (and the displeasure of firing) new hires into their teaching careers.  In watching teachers come into the profession some just "have it."  Some seem to be innately programmed to be teachers.  For others, it is a much more difficult road to travel.  Additionally, there has been much awareness brought up about "teacher burn-out" and teachers not being able to survive this profession.

It has taken nine years of watching, listening, and observing to come to understand that there are two distinct differences between teachers that excel and love the profession, and those that do not excel and are prone to burn-out."

Flexible and Highly Original Eco-Resort in Portugal

Flexible and Highly Original Eco-Resort in Portugal | Speculations and Trends | Scoop.it

Luis Rebelo de Andrade in collaboration with Diogo Aguiar completed the design for seven cozy accommodation units presently known as the “Eco-Resort” and located in Parque de Pedras Salgadas, Portugal.

The original resort was especially envisioned as a serene place for guests to get away and experience nature in its purest form: “Designed in a modular prefabrication system but flexible to adapt to the specific places within the park, these houses result in several different combinations of the same three modules (entrance/bathing – living – sleeping) creating different morphologies and different dialogs with the surrounding environment“.

The interiors of the resort are highly modern and pay tribute to the minimalist style. In other words, functionality is a key factor in the design, although the architecture also ranks high in aesthetics...

Halle am Wasser Art Centre: a self-sufficient urban complex in Berlin | Speculations and Trends | Scoop.it

The new Arts Centre "Halle am Wasser" by the Berlin and London based practice Pott Architects is part of a self-sufficient urban accommodation complex featuring an Arts Campus, Marina, flats, offices and restaurants.

A key element of the development of the whole area was the transformation of an old derelict warehouse into an extensive art gallery, a cultural hub for the whole district. The art forum takes the shape of a folded sculptural element, with a membrane streching across the outside of the existing building, transforming it into a home for all forms of art with 6 main galleries varying in size. The canopy covering allows natural light inside and significantly improves the appearance of the warehouse. The steel skeleton of the building is successfully adapted to accommodate the flexible open-plan gallery spaces that can be easily adjusted according to the requirements of the artists...
