#SMSSummit Highlights: Practical and Tactical Social Media Strategy - Search Engine Journal | Specializing in Managing Change | Scoop.it
Earlier this month, I attended the Social Media Strategies Summit (SMSS) in Las Vegas. While I’ve attended a variety of social media conferences in the past, this was the first time I’d attended this particular event. I was really impressed with the overall structure and organization of the event as well as the quality of speakers and fellow attendees.Presented by the Global Strategic Management Institute (GSMI), the event’s presenters focused on an array of topics, from tools to tactics to strategies, in relation to social media and larger business initiatives.“We like to take a holistic approach with SMSS,” noted Breanna Jacobs, the Director of Conference Production. “We want to provide attendees with all the knowledge they need to create and implement a powerful social media strategy, but also a venue where attendees and speakers can meet and get to know each other.”

Social Media Analytics Review: Beckon - Business 2 Community

Social Media Analytics Review: Beckon - Business 2 Community | Specializing in Managing Change | Scoop.it
One of my favorite perks of running this website, is meeting great people and learning about new things in the online/ inbound marketing space — especially new social media analytics tools. A couple of weeks ago, I got a demo of a new tool — Beckon — that has a lot to offer. It’s price tag might be a little steep for small businesses (about $10K per data source), but I think it solves many problems enterprise businesses currently struggle with — disparate data sources, different scales on metrics, and the general mish-mash of data that’s challenging to interpret.

Culture is critical to company success and business transformation, but good luck taking advantage of it

Culture is critical to company success and business transformation, but good luck taking advantage of it | Specializing in Managing Change | Scoop.it
We need to start with the perception that organizational culture is about people’s behavior, the values that drive them, and the meaning they derive from their actions and the actions of others. Cultures can be changed by changing values and drives, and therefore changing people’s behaviors. But ‘managing’ culture is next to impossible, because culture is the slowest aspect of an organization to change.

Launching Scoop.it for Google+: authorship and posting to Google+ Company pages

Launching Scoop.it for Google+: authorship and posting to Google+ Company pages | Specializing in Managing Change | Scoop.it
While some debate whether Google+ is a ghost town or not, the search giant's social network quietly passed the 1 Billion user mark. That's right: 1 Billion people have a Google+ account which is 2x Twitter's user base and only 15% less than Facebook's. Perhaps more importantly, the +1 button is pressed more than 5 million times a day and 340 million of its users are active.Scoopiteers didn’t need to wait for those metrics to be public to demand that we add Google+ to the Scoop.it’s sharing options: as our platform is a hub to discover, curate and share content to feed your online channels, it’s natural to offer as many distribution options as possible. So today, after integrating with Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn profiles, groups and pages, Twitter and many other social platform such as Wordpress or Tumblr, we’re excited to launch our integration with Google+ with 2 new features:- Adding Google+ Company pages as a sharing option to Scoop.it- Adding Google+ authorship to your Scoop.it profile
