Cassandra Sanchez's comment, February 3, 8:34 AM
I find this so interesting!! I love the way spanish changes so much from country to country and have been exploring this idea in my own daily life with friends across the globe. This article was fascinating, especially because it was written from a unique perspective of a Peru-born lady that has a unique experience with language than I do, being USA-born with a Mexican background. I'd love to continue exploring this topic and learning more about the variations between countries in Latin-America and Spain. I'm really curious to see whether or not the "bilingualism advantages" that we've learned about would cross over here- being that different countries have their own vocabulary, accent, culture, etc. Super interesting, thanks for sharing this article!

Slammed For Speaking Spanish?!

Slammed For Speaking Spanish?! | Spanish in the United States | Scoop.it

Is English going the way of the printed newspaper? One Boston columnist seems to think so.

In an article published Wednesday, Jeff Jacoby of the Boston Globe took issue with Gabriel Gomez for launching his U.S. Senate campaign in Spanish rather than English. This bothered Jacoby, who thinks Massachusetts voters, the great majority of whom speak English, should be addressed in their native language first, all the time.
