Need More Proof That The Music Industry Is Fake? Here You Go. | Songwriting Music Worship and Guitars | Scoop.it
We all know that our favourite artists have great voices right? Wrong! This video from RT, reveals just how corrupt the music industry really is and how anyone can sound like a professional.
Learn Songwriting's insight:

This is an interesting video revealing how artist are using technology.  The problem with this is its overuse.  Too much of a good thing can leave a sour taste. One of the biggest technological techniques used in producing records is autotune.   This is a black box that will "fix" the pitch of a singers voice.  Most of what is heard today in mainstream commercial music filters the singing voice through autotune. Then there is the issue of live performances which are not really live.  In the pursuit of perfection and lack of spontaneity many concerts are actually lip-synced over a studio vocal track.  Where is the skill in that?   .

"So each act of listening to music may be thought of as both recapitulating the past and predicting the future. When we listen to music, these brain networks actively create expectations based on our stored knowledge. Composers and performers intuitively understand this: they manipulate these prediction mechanisms to give us what we want — or to surprise us, perhaps even with something better."

Storytelling – Advertising vs Songwriting

Storytelling – Advertising vs Songwriting | Songwriting Music Worship and Guitars | Scoop.it

So what makes me listen to a song and afterwards want to buy it?

Is it because it is emotive.

Is it because there is some form of nostalgia within the song.

Does it make me want to sing.

Does it make me want to dance.

Is it because my friends like the band.

Am I entertained, is it fun?

I like the beat, the rhythm, the lyrics.

I like who is singing it, I like how they look, I like their personality.

Is it because, I can relate to what is being said.

I like the story it tells.

Could the same be said for Advertising? What makes me look at an ad and then make that final purchase decision?
