It is often happened that the wood pellet mill is blocked when making pellets. This not only impacts the productive of wood pellets but also has bad influence on the machine itself. While how this problem comes? The answer is that the design of machine is probably the problem but it mostly due to the improper use of wood pellet mill.

 

Let’s explain it in details and seek out the answer how to handle with the blocking.
1. The feeding rate is too fast. When feeding too fast, the load of the machine will  increase, then the block is occurred which will finally cause the overload of electric motor. Under this circumstances, the feeding hopper door should be turned down or turned off. Otherwise you can change the feeding way through increasing the feeder or choose manual feeder or automatic feeder according your needs.
2. The discharge pipe is blocked. The feeding speed is too fast or the discharge pipe not matches with the conveying equipment can both cause the block in discharge pipe. When the problem is found out, the air vents should be cleaned at once and the improper conveying equipment should be changed.
3. The broken or aging hammer, the closed mesh hole can also cause the block in grinder. So the machine should be checked regularly.
4. The feeding material contains too much water. Though there is not very strict limitation about the moisture content of the materials, too wet materials will block the grinder. So the moisture content of the materials should not higher than 14%.

About 15% percent of these cotton stalks are used as cattle feed, paper industry or home heating, etc. While there are still about 19 million tonnes of cotton stalks are not used properly and treated as waste.

Tips for Pelletizing Cotton Stalks
1. Since the lignin content of cotton stalks are not high enough to bind the pellets, the cotton stalks may require some specific binders to prevent the pellets from disintegrating.
2. The cotton stalks usually contains some contamination and impurities, so before pelletizing, the raw materials should be cleaned in some way.
3. The cotton stalk is dry enough for pelletizing, so drying process is unnecessary.

Traditionally, rice husk can be burned directly in the boiler, or be processed into bulk. However, the rice husk can not be burned efficiently by using the above ways since the density of rice husk is low. And what’s more, there is much air pollution when burning the rice husk directly. There are some advantages to make the rice husks into wood pellets. First, rice husk pellets can burn longer than rice husk. What are Agri-pellets?
Agri-pellets are a range of sustainable and carbon neutral biomass fuels which are made by agricultural residues such as straws, husks, stalks and bagasse, etc. With wood pellets are widely used in many countries and areas, biomass pellets are popular all over the world. However, due to possible shortage of wood pellets production in areas like Southern European, the agricultural residues which can also be processed into pellets came into people’s eyes.


Problems Occurred During the Combustion of Agri-pellets
With the unique characteristics of agri-pellets, there are some problems occurred during combustion of agri-pellets. Currently, the burning equipments in the market are mainly designed for wood pellets, so it is inevitable to have some problems when burning agri-pellets in these equipments like wood pellet burner. The main problems are in the following:
Firstly, since the ash content of agri-pellets is high, the ash slagging problem of agri-pellets is serious.
Secondly, compared with wood pellets, agri-pellets contain more potassium(K), nitrogen(N), sulphur(S), which will lead to increased emission of NOx, SOx and HCL.
Thirdly, the content of chlorine(CL) of agri-pellets will cause corrosion of the boiler internals.
