European Commission - PRESS RELEASES - Press release - Information from the European Commission on the latest draft proposals in the context of negotiations with Greece

Kev Richards's insight:

It reads like a Conservative Party manifesto - privatise everything, cut pensions, increase pension age, reduce state benefits, increase the cost of living via VAT, cut wages in the public sector and less contentiously - make people pay their taxes. it is a purely business view of a country, deeply insensitive to the needs or interests of the population, even if you assume that all the proposals are OK. It is a plan for big International business takeovers.

New study of relationships finds more than a third of working parents do not see or speak to their own children every day because they are too busy but many also have no friends at work
Kev Richards's insight:

Modern Britain - too much time at work, plus getting to work, families dispersed because of work leading to dislocated "communities" which are not communities. No local town centres or events to bring people together.

Tuskegee syphilis experiment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tuskegee syphilis experiment

The Tuskegee syphilis experiment (/tʌsˈkiːɡiː/) was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932 and 1972 by the U.S. Public Health Service to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis in rural African-American men in Alabama. They were told that they were receiving free health care from the U.S. government.

Kev Richards's insight:
