YouTube Creator Blog: Now you can live stream on YouTube | SocialWorkz | Scoop.it

Over the last year, we’ve seen creators across music, gaming, sports, news and morecategories use the power of live video to create amazing experiences for their audiences, and build new fans.

Now, all YouTube channels that verify their account and are in good standing will be able to live stream live video to the world. We’re rolling out the feature over the next few weeks, and you can see if you have access on the YouTube account feature pageor wait for Live Events to appear in your Video Manager.

Aaron McMurray's insight:

This is a great addition to organisations with Youtube channels with custom branding and a solid following. Reduces the requirement for additional platforms for live streamed content.

A great addition for SocialWork's GOLD customers!

"The study indicates that brands may be struggling to keep up with the increase in inbound consumer messages. Indeed, response rates on both Facebook and Twitter, the networks where consumer messages have increased the most, have dropped below 20 percent. This means that four out of five inquiries goes unanswered, Howard says."

You read it correctly: 4 out of 5 inquiries are not acknowledged by brands!

Social Media Can Boost Medical and Dental Marketing Efforts

Social Media Can Boost Medical and Dental Marketing Efforts | SocialWorkz | Scoop.it

Still unconvinced about the value of social media? Here are some social media statistics to help you make a more informed decision.

YouTube
YouTube is the number-two search engine in the world. That makes it a great source for leads and traffic to your website.

The Relevancy Group reports that around 700 YouTube video links are being shared on Twitter every minute while about 500 years worth of YouTube videos are watched on Facebook every day.

Facebook
With more than 1 billion users, Facebook is the king of the social media hill. According to Hubspot, around 70 percent of business-to-consumer marketers gained their customers through this site. Which makes it a potentially great source of new patients for healthcare practices.

LinkedIn
About 43 percent of all US marketers have acquired customers through LinkedIn. If you’re looking to increase your web leads and traffic, LinkedIn is a great site. It’s also a great site for attracting and engaging professional referral sources.

Twitter
Did you know Twitter’s fastest-growing demographic is the 55 to 64 age bracket? If you want to reach out to this group, why not try Twitter? It’s a good platform for online medical and dental practice marketing.

Google Plus
While it may seem like a deserted social media platform, Google Plus ranks high from a usability standpoint by integrating Plus’ features like hashtag search in its search results. Being active on your Google Plus account will also give you an edge on search engine results. Make sure your Google profiles are populated with the right information and keywords.

More and more patients use the above social media accounts on a daily basis. Make sure you get your share of this patient base by having a branded and active present.

The End of Advertising as We Know It--and What to Do Now | Fast Company

...Kodak filed for bankruptcy while Instagram was bought by Facebook for $1 billion. Airbnb is now filling more nights than Hilton Hotels. Nike+ Kinect Training [created by AKQA] is now "as good as a real trainer, costs less than a one hour’s lesson, and it’s 24/7 at home," as Chris Anderson put it.

The reality is this: Business ideas from the least expected players and angles will disrupt your brand faster than advertising can save it.

A couple of years after the world’s biggest advertising award show ditched the word advertising, we’ve reached an inflection point: Advertising as we know it has come to an end.

Now what?

Here are a few principles that can guide the shift from the Old World Order to the New World Order....
