"Facebook has turned on Instagram's money jets. The photo-sharing app said today its opening up its API to companies 'large and small' so they can directly advertise on the app in the similar way they already do with Facebook, Twitter and Google. Coupled with Facebook's highly coveted targeting tools, Laundry Service CEO Jason Stein said the move is 'very exciting' and only makes Instagram more valuable to companies. Now they just have to make ads that fit with the feel of Instagram's feel."

I think social media is a company is important. Now a days, if you don;t have a website or any social media presence, do you even exist? (obviously, yes but how will others know). Companies need to be seen via social media and I think this article gives great insight into where social media should lie within your company. I like the separation between new and existing business I think that is a big distinction that should be made because then you may fall into re-branding.

I find the integration-marketing stat pretty compelling: 84% of social marketers have integrated strategies. More integration and few silos can make for much more effective marketing. It's also good to see nearly 3/4 of marketers using social analytics, eh?
