How to Optimize Instagram Posts for Maximum Engagement

How to Optimize Instagram Posts for Maximum Engagement | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
Are you as crazy about Instagram as I am? Here's a nifty tip on how to optimize Instagram posts for maximum engagement.

If you’re like me, then you might have a slight addiction to Instagram.  No, seriously.  If you find yourself flicking through the app with cat-like reflexes a few more than a dozen times a day, you might be on the brink of IG overload.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Facebook advocate too, but there’s something to be said about the intuitive and easy-to-use interface of Instagram:

Quelli meno fantasiosi alla fine (oppure all’inizio).

Baggout – Social Curation Based On What Friends and Other Users Like And Buy - Business 2 Community

Baggout – Social Curation Based On What Friends and Other Users Like And Buy - Business 2 Community | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
Humans are social beasts and hence shopping is inherently social. While the online buying trend continues to grow, our tendency to find out what our friends intend to buy and what they have bought also grows. In today’s social times, quite a few startups are trying to solve the same i.e. bringing the social layer to online shopping making the experience an interesting and social one. Delhi based startup Baggout is doing this via a portal and an Android app. The main objective of the startup is to make the online buying behavior process simple by adding a social layer for users, and for eCommerce portals it means more customers at their door steps.

A Brief History Of Twitter (2006-2013) [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
For me, it was somewhat enthusiastically signing up for my @Sheamus profile on March 8, 2008, sending my first tweet… and not sending my second until more than three weeks later. Twitter is different things to different people, but in the wake of its upcoming IPO it’s easy to forget that it has existed as a thing for less than a decade. Indeed, Twitter’s progression from simple concept in March 2006 to media and communications powerhouse in September 2013 is nothing short of amazing… and the best could still be yet to come. This infographic from the Wall Street Journal takes a quick look at some key moments from Twitter’s history, circa 2006-13.

The 5 Habits Of Highly Successful Community Managers

The 5 Habits Of Highly Successful Community Managers | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
Alessandro Rea's insight:
SUCCESSFUL CMGRS SEEM TO ALWAYS:Be adaptable – The world of social media is fast paced and always changing, you’ve gotta keep up with the flow if you want remain relevant. Flexibility and multitasking were big topics.Prepare – Jonathan said their content calendars help them keep up with what their audience is talking about, not what they want to push or what Holidays are coming up. AndRachel added that sometimes preparations take weeks. So while being adaptable is key, so is planning, strategy and execution.Teamwork – This was interesting since many CMGRs feel like they’re in a bubble with their jobs. Carrie and Jonathan said that collaboration in this role is key – even if it means partnering up with your communities to create killer content or other usable information.Community Essentials – Mentioned SEVERAL times were skills like listening, developing brand voice, and some serious knowledge about your online communities. I think Jonathan gave a golden nugget by mentioning that CMGRs should be peeking in on their communities even when they’re not engaging them to see what they’re up to and glean insights on their interests.Patience – Learning to play nice (even when others aren’t) was another common thread. And as Jonathan put it, “Don’t feed the trolls.” Your tone comes across in everything you do online, so it’s best to put on a smile and handle complaints and nastiness with grace and poise.

When a Social Media Impression Is Not an Impression

When a Social Media Impression Is Not an Impression | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
It seems every measurement tool has its own definition of a ‘Social Impression’, but that definition always takes the theoretical maximum number of views based on the number of followers each participant has. Unfortunately, the metric is disingenuous at best. The likelihood that every follower was online, saw, engaged, recorded, took note and let their eyes fall over that specific interaction is unlikely (if not impossible).I’d encourage brands to worry less about the media coverage and dig into metrics that, while may seemingly result in smaller numbers, account for true engagement and real interactions including response rates, shares and re-tweets.by Andy White

5 Reasons People Favourite Tweets on Twitter

5 Reasons People Favourite Tweets on Twitter | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it

.

With approximately 500 million users and an average of 400 million tweets sent per day,Twitter is undoubtedly one of the most popular social media platforms.

Increasingly so in recent years, brands have been embracing it for customer service, nurturing relationships with their customers, product feedback, promotion of their products and services, and generally boosting their online reputation.

From a consumer perspective, it seems that many have also grown used to disclosing a lot of personal information on Twitter.

Users retweet or reply to anything that particular resonates with them, that they find intriguing or that arouses interest in one way or another.

That’s why we thought it might be fun to take a look something we think is not as well understood in terms of functionality: the ‘favourite’.

What does it mean and how do people use it?
