L’accesso a internet da dispositivi mobile ha ormai superato quello da computer, sia in termini di numero di persone, sia di tempo trascorso sul web.

Chi usa il proprio smartphone/tablet per accedere a internet è più attivo sui social media, e li usa con maggior frequenza: l’84% del tempo dei possessori di smartphone è speso sui social network: Facebook (65% del traffico arriva da mobile) e Twitter (la percentuale raggiunge il 75%).

Adesso è ufficiale, dal prossimo 28 Maggio 2014 tutti gli account su Twitter avranno di default il nuovo profilo. L'annuncio arriva da Twitter

Che lo vogliate oppure no, dal 28 maggio il vostro profilo su Twitter cambierà grafica (se ancora non l'avesse fatto).
Meglio arrivare preparati al cambio di look scegliendo con cura immagini per header (1500*500 px e 55px di margine interno - area nascosta da twitter) e avatar (400*400 px).

Il portale CMO.com (http://www.cmo.com/articles/2014/3/13/_2014_social_intro.html) ha realizzato un’indagine su quali social network si adattino alle nostre esigenze sulla base di 4 fondamentali fattori: Rilevanza SEO, Brand Awareness, Comunicazioni con la clientela e Generazione di traffico.

- He doesn’t trust advertising and only connects with brands that he feels are authentic and stand for higher purpose (value conscious and seeks authenticity)

- He publicly admits to showrooming and has been conditioned to expect everything immediately and now (require immediacy).

I contenuti che raggiungono le persone su Facebook e su Twitter seguono logiche fondamentalmente diverse ed è molto importante conoscerle per definire una strategia di contenuto che funzioni bene per la community.

Quali implicazioni ha questo approccio radicalmente diverso?

Nel caso di Facebook è importantissima la frequenza dei contenuti, ma nel caso di Twitter è vitale: se in Twitter un contenuto viene scavalcato da altri contenuti più recenti, c’è una buona possibilità che venga ignorato dal target. In Facebook, se un contenuto è rilevante per l’utente e ha generato un buon livello di interazioni, molto probabilmente verrà mostrato anche se non è stato pubblicato da pochissimo;In entrambi i casi, è molto importante conoscere le community di riferimento per capire la frequenza migliore: se il posting è troppo frequente per una community che segue poche persone e pochi brand, molte persone trovano il feed invaso da un solo brand, un solo contatto, un solo tema.La promozione del contenuto funziona in modo radicalmente diverso: Facebook utilizza la promozione per influenzare parte della selezione delle conversazioni mostrate agli utenti, Twitter utilizza la promozione per mostrare contenuti aggiuntivi nello stream che normalmente ha una logica legata al tempo;

After searching through another round of hashtag data, Socialbakers has found that posting with hashtags on Facebook has become an increasingly popular thing to do. Meanwhile, tweets use hashtags about as often as they did this time last year, and Instagram is the only network where a significant percentage of posts use more than 2 hashtags.

By examining 12,509 Facebook profiles and 865 Twitter profiles in February 2013 and February 2014, SocialBakers found that brands on Facebook have expanded their use of hashtags exponentially. Brands’ Twitter profiles, however, are using hashtags at about the same rate they did last year.

6 notewothy findings from ”Social Referrals That Matter” Report by Shareaholic:

1) YouTube is the undisputed champion;

2) Although Google+ and LinkedIn drive the fewest social referrals, they bring in some of the best visitors;

3) A referral from Twitter is as good as a referral from Facebook — at least, in terms of bounce rate, pages per visit and time on site;

4) Pinterest isn’t exactly the social media golden child we all play it up to be;

5) Reddit users are the most fickle;

6) StumbleUpon drives the least engaged referrals.

Tumblr has a huge youth demographic that’s growing rapidly. This demographic also has a higher than average disposable income and very little competition from other brands.


Tumblr’s social focus means that its skew towards short form content can help it gain the most engagement.
