How to Make Viral Content: 9 Tips from the Greatest Viral Content Genius on the Planet

How to Make Viral Content: 9 Tips from the Greatest Viral Content Genius on the Planet | Socialart | Scoop.it
Neetzan Zimmerman is a master at creating blog posts that spread like wildfire across social networks. You could learn a lot from him.
talentosprecato's insight:

“I never self-promote,” he says. “I find it tacky. That’s just never been my style, and I’ve done well enough without it that it never occurred to me to change.”

Neetzan Zimmerman is a genius at creating viral content. For the past two years he’s worked at Gawker, one of the world’s biggest blogs. Month in and month out, he generated more traffic than all of Gawker’s other writers combined. He just got poached away from Gawker by Whisper, a hot social networking startup in Los Angeles, where he will be editor-in-chief.

Research: Video games driving English language skills; other languages suffer

Research: Video games driving English language skills; other languages suffer | Socialart | Scoop.it
Research has shown that students who spend time playing online computer or console games reap an added benefit – good grades in English. The study by Helsinki University research student Olli Uuskoski shows that boys in particular tend to enjoy a big payoff, since they can more often be found with a game controller in hand than girls. As English grows in popularity among students, other languages are being left behind.

wonderWALL, interactive light installation by by LIKEarchitects - #lightart | Socialart | Scoop.it

wonderWALL is an exhibition space designed to receive the masterpiece The Pool by Jen Lewin in Colombo Shopping Mall, in Lisbon, Portugal, built with approximately 20,000 strips of white and black fabric.
The temporary museum is totally suspended from the skylight on the central square and presents an abstract skin which oscillates with airflows created by the movement of people. The cylindrical space seeks to emphasise the centrality of the exposed artwork, enhanced by the abdication of a main entrance in favour of a fully permeable facade that dissolves the entrance along the entire periphery of the space. ...

The Evolution of 8-Bit Art | #8bitart

Beginning with early Atari and Nintendo video games, the 8-bit aesthetic has been a part of our culture for over 30 years. As it moved through the generations, 8-bit earned its independence from its video game roots. The idea of 8-bit now stands for a refreshing level of simplicity and minimalism, is capable of sonic and visual beauty, and points to the layer of technology that suffuses our modern lives. No longer just nostalgia art, contemporary 8-bit artists and chiptunes musicians have elevated the form to new levels of creativity and cultural reflection.
