This article was especially intriguing to me. My husband and I have been paring down for the last couple of years toward a move to Costa Rica or Ecuador. It's inspiring to read about people who are living the life that most just aspire to.

Amazing stories and pictures to go along with them. Kick back, relax and dream.

The leadership lessons of the young George Washington are more than relevant today. They speak directly to a new generation of young people who aspire to lead our communities and our country.

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, February 15, 2014 1:26 PM

As I read the article, it was clear that George Washington was a servant-leader. Taking no pay despite the financial hardship is a place to begin. There are timeless elements to his leadership style and etiquette.

Matthew M. Caruso CMSgt, USAF's curator insight, February 15, 2014 6:46 PM

Reading about George Washington always motivates me to study and reflect on my own leadership style and approach to see if I am off course.   He was simply an amazing human being. Given the very tough and tenuous circumstances he and the other founding fathers were under, he was still able to keep an almost defeated Army and later a fledging nation on course and successful.  All of us should strive to be more like him in how we go about our work and deal with each other and how we treat our people.  This is an excellent short article.

6 Things Making Stories Go Viral--Will they Amaze or Infuriate You?

6 Things Making Stories Go Viral--Will they Amaze or Infuriate You? | Social-World, Blog, Network, Storytelling, Curation, Leadership | Scoop.it

"When Jonah Berger was a graduate student at Stanford, in the early aughts, he would make a habit of reading page A2 of the Wall Street Journal, which included a list of the five most-read and the five most-shared articles of the day. “I’d go down to the library and surreptitiously cut out that page,” he recalls. “I noticed that what was read and what was shared was often different, and I wondered why that would be.” What was it about a piece of content—an article, a picture, a video—that took it from simply interesting to interesting and shareable? What pushes someone not only to read a story but to pass it on?"

Une (petite) leçon à garder en tête pour la diffusion d'information

I think this sums up social media quite nicely:

"The irony, of course, is that the more data we mine, and the closer we come to determining a precise calculus of sharing, the less likely it will be for what we know to remain true. "
